If Menlo wants to play D-II then they should just join the WIAC.

One might wonder about Menlo's chances of success at the D2 level, when they were hardly a powerhouse at D3. Their enrollment is not large, and their record the past few years has been less than stellar.

Menlo? D-II? In other sports they are NAIA-II. Men's hoops were bottom tier, women's hoops finished second, volleyball very good (undefeated league champs), men's soccer middle of the pack, and women's soccer a so-so second. Are these rumors circulating because two other members of their conference (Dominican and Cal State East Bay) are going D-II starting fall of 2009.

'Cats pick up a kid that first signed with WWU.

Wenatchee football players' plan evaporates

Of course the writer thinks Linfield's mascot is the "Pirates" but that's fine...looks like a solid kid.  Financial Aid is coming out now so the 'Cats should put together a list of kids who have paid their deposits sometime next month.  It's been a very good response this year so far and I think the recruit list will be very strong when released.

If this kid is a "bruising fullback" why sign him as a linebacker? Just curious. Any comments?
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Our offense has basically been fullback free since 1999.

....except when we run "BEEF"! (But then we usually use our defensive nose guard for the fullback. :D)

Menlo hires Frank Guidici has their "interm" head coach of the Oaks.  Is this the same guy that can be seen on the Menlo sideline of past years rocking out to AC/DC that the Oaks PA blasts out?

Pat Coleman

I don't know where a school the size of Menlo gets the money to hand out the number of scholarships required for NCAA Division II membership.

With the likes of Linfield, Willamette and Whitworth standing in Menlo's way, all I can say is that it's a long way to the top, Coach Guidici.

Thinking out loud here...what is the chance that if Pacific brings back football that the NWC dissolves the football only membership with Menlo?  Is Menlo looking for a back-up plan (DII-GNAC) in case their program is sent back to the ranks of DIII Indy status?

What?...Love 'em and leave 'em?
Wouldn't that appear to  be unsporting and come across as elitist  to 'dump' the Palo Alto school without fair warn?

Quotemoney to hand out the number of scholarships required for NCAA Division II membership.

Where'd they get their travel budget all this decade I've been wondering.

Humbolt State is DII and in the GNAC. I watched them play WOU this past year. They didn't look much better than Menlo. I will say that they had the best pep band I've ever seen for the number of people in the band.....

Honestly, I don't think that would be very smart of the NWC. Even if Pacific brings football back, scheduling enough D-3's will still be a challenge for some teams - and L&C is far from stable.
