With Pacific on board, how will it effect the recruiting pool and who will it effect the most ?  Does it make sense for displaced Western Washington and Colorado College kids to take a look ?

I think it will hurt Willamette the most. And then PLU second. Then Lewis and Clark.

Honestly, I'd say this really depends on who Pacific hires as coaches.  If they hire someone from the Portland area, I'd say it hits Lewis & Clark, Linfield, and to a lesser extent Willamette.  Though we've been making inroads locally, our primary recruiting base is still California, where Speckman has his contacts.  If their coach is from Northern California, then it hits us and Menlo.  If he's from Washington, it affects UPS, PLU, Whitworth, and again maybe Linfield.

I highly doubt any WWU or CC kids would latch on at Pacific.  Waiting another full year to play on a non-contender when you can transfer somewhere else and play immediately just doesn't make sense to me.

Look at the logo as of the front were towards the top of the helmet, that is the head of the boxer/dragon.  It is slanted--I saw it right away as I live in a somewhat slanted world

Ok, thanks, I think I see what they're getting at now.   It's one of the more unusual logos that I've ever seen but I guess it gives them a distinct and unique identity and that's kind of neat.

Historical info from www.nationalchamps.net/Helmet_Project/ concerning the evolution of Linfield's helmet logo:
    * The team used cardinal red helmets through 1954, and switched to white helmets in 1955;
    * The scowling wildcat logo was first used on the helmets in 1963, and has been used ever since; its colors were cardinal and black until 1993, when the colors were changed to cardinal and purple;
    * The facemask color was changed from gray to white in 1993;
    * The name of the person who designed the logo has apparently been lost.

Does anyone know the name of the designer of the Wildcat logo?

It's a good question and I'm sure that to a certain extent all of the Oregon schools and the Tacoma schools will/might lose some recruits but I don't think it's going to "hurt" Linfield,  Willamette, UPS or PLU.  L&C might take a bit of a hit but only for the high academic kids that Pacific and the Pios could go head to head.

Let's not forget that Linfield and PLU dominated the NAIA in the 80's when they were recruiting vs the public and Pacific/OIT had programs.  However, the landscape has changed in the type of kids the NWC pulls in now due to high costs and academic standards.    I'm not worried about it as Linfield is still going to be able to bring in 40-50 new players anyways and is still going to bring in quality DIII players.

Same here. It's good to see the boys working hard at the 'Dome.

I liked that ghosty thing you did of the players on the field, 11. Nice work.

Thanks for the feedback fellas.  However, Wildcat11 has to challenge the board today to go over to ADvantage Catdome and take the Japanese IQ test.  A friend of mine sent this to me a few months ago and I thought this would be perfect for the board.

Take the test, try to solve the puzzle and post up your time on the blog.
