The University of Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran University are attempting to put their annual rivarly game (battle for the Totem Pole Trophy) in the Tacoma Dome where it used to be played.

On this note...found this web site:  http://www.tacomacollegefootball.com  No idea who put this together.

11, Don't know where you get time to find all this stuff but thanks for the link.  I recall when I first got into a game at PLU, it was a couple of years since I had played high school ball, and I get down into my stance when the offense comes to the line and it was deathly quiet, or seemed so.  Skip forward to my Junior year and that first game in the Dome with nearly 15,000 fans.  I go into my stance and think, dang, it's loud out here.

D O.C.

WC11's body of work is now officially beyond a hobby.

Thanks for the "camp" entries.

I now watch to see if every Qb follows through with the thumb down.

Is there a new lens involved this year?
Does your wife pack a week of sack lunches and keep them stashed in the fridge in the garage?
Any chance of a CD of the best of highlight music?

July 1st and 60 days more to wait is nothing folks. I bet PC half dreads it.

That would be a nice venue.....hope they can pull if off.

I played in the first two at the T-Dome when the rivalry was resumed.  If they can draw a good crowd that would be great.  If it's only going to be 4-5k though it would seem empty and they might be better continuing at the current stadiums.

Agreed.  But it's hard to believe that the same amount of fans that have been showing up to Sparks or UPS would show up the Tacoma Dome.  the game never had less than 8000 people when it was in the T-Dome.  That's awesome that you played in the game in that atmosphere.  It would be wonderful to get that back.  Plus than the schools could actually make some money from the game and get in the news a little bit.

not to mention it certainly would not hurt recruiting.

now "I will leave you tikets at the door, go ahead a sit where ever it doesn't matter"
then "We will leave you tickets at gate D1, the recruits will get a special badge to come down on the field, you might want to bring ear plugs..."

For any other high school football nerds like me the games at the Tacoma Dome have been great in the last couple of years since they put in the new turf.  Not like it used to be... all the games are on TV and radio now and thousands of people show up.

This game is a long time coming...

I remember Linfield playing PLU in the Tacoma Dome.....it was in the late '80s or early '90s. Fun venue. It was a great game with PLU coming back in the last couple minutes to tie the game....the game ended in a tie if I recall it right....something like 20-20. It was when PLU had that really shifty QB....can't remember his name....somebody will recall him though......we couldn't stop him on that last drive....he scrambled like crazy and PLU had some very talented skill people if I recall right. Did PLU go on to win the title that year?

'93 was a 20-20 tie in the T-Dome; Marc Weekly was PLU's QB; yes the Lutes won it all that year - Linfield lost to Central Washington in the playoffs.

coco

That game was our only visit to the Tacoma Dome, and we made a weekend of it. It was a  great venue.

Hey, in looking at the names of the PLU recruits, does anyone know if Taylor Angevine is related to Ty Angevine?
Two words:  THE STREAK

ah yes, thanks for those details d-train....I went to that Title game that year, I believe it was played at Civic Stadium in Portland.... Linfield had played for the title a year before against Findlay of Ohio in the same venue........can't forget the fake QB sneak when Weekly took the snap pretended to dive into the line and then jumped back and threw a TD pass...classic PLU.

"onlinenw.com" is a McMinnville company that provides internet, dsl, etc. Oneline Northwest.

so this latest troll is from within...sad.

D O.C.

Whatever....I dinged him on his first post and that's that.

I dunno what's bad about from within, UMHBincatland was just fine and so is Bennie.

The burr in the saddle is just fine for motivation. Not coming through in a big game is a fact. Let's just do it this season.

What is a "recordo?"  ???

My limited knowledge of the subject would suggest "Recordo" is "cutesy" for record. However my limited education came from a football factory. ;)
