Got the Jet packed and ready to head to Oxy boys

Phone it in

GHC

GHC make sure you and your crew get the jet here early on the 19th  cause there is a lot to do to prepare or the Oxy game.  First off if coming down on Saturday I suggest parking your ride at ONT.  I am going to start my day at 11:30 am at the In N Out Burger on Foothill blvd in Upland (not far from ONT).  After the In N Out hit move about a mile to Claremont for the 12:00 pm kickoff supporting the Loggers effort against the Stags.  At halftime we cross the street and walk about a block to catch second half (1:00pm kickoff) of the Pios vs Sagehens.  After watching the NWC go 2-0 we move down the 210 to Oxy (about a 45 minute drive) to catch the Main Event !  Six D3 teams in one day (and an In N Out Burger con animal fries). I'm sure some of the faithful will from down here would want to make the loop.  Doubt many D3ers would be able to match three in one day and none could for sure  claim same and scoring an In N Out run.  We need to make it an epic D3 feast !

The key for the 'Cats is the first two games.  Hardin Simmons is going to be a highly ranked with an All-American caliber QB under center who's given us fits the past two years.  It's a huge season opener on multiple levels.  Then we turn around and start a 4 week roadie at Oxy.  It's not going to be an easy road but I'm excited to see how the 'Cats respond.

I thought the Hardin-Simmons QB was a senior last year?  Looks like you may be right Wildcat11...that is if it's #7 - Justin Feaster @ QB. He was listed as a junior last year in 2008.

BTW...Hardin-Simmons plays Whitworth the week before they play @ Linfield so that will be interesting to see how Whitworth does vs. Hardin-Simmons, but it will also have given Hardin-Simmons a game under their belt to work out the kinks before they come up to the CatDome.

D O.C.

I'm up for the Cal Cat loop. Mr. Moderator and Keith take in  multiple proximate games when the opportunity presents - caution! it can be stressful - and it's not often a Western opportunity presents itself.
I will do the research on contacting Casa Blanca - family pizza - on Colorado Blvd. in Eagle Rock, tucked under the 210 Freeway, for a Friday night get together spot for the Cardinal and Purple.

You will no doubt be hungry after your ride to Eagle Rock...having had In-n-Out for lunch, it will be time for dinner:

Seriously, 6 D3 teams AND In-n-Out AND Tommy's....Epic.  Only in SoCal.    8)

If you want epic . . . wait until after the game and head to the original Tommy's downtown on Rampart with a stop at Burrito King for good measure!

Purple Heys

Being that they are out of towners I didn't think they could handle the full impact of Rampart and Beverly...   :D

And out of consideration for their fellow flight passengers and future California-Oregon relations, I left Burrito King to us hard-core SoCal types.

The more I think of the itinerary, the more I'm tempted to make the drive from O-Side...but I may be flying back to Iowa to catch Jr.'s game.

;)

MonroviaCat

I officially have heartburn just reading all of this......In-N-Out + Tommy's + Burrito King all in one day.....maybe stop by The Hat and get the full artery clogging day done with :)
Go Cats!

Sabretooth Tiger

+k purple . . . was trying to figure out a polite way to suggest that "epic" might run both "in" and "out"
;D

Question, how exactly do Sea Otters make love . . . and why do you know?

Sabretooth Tiger

New place in Eagle Rock not too far from the College is "The Oinkster"

outstanding Pastrami, fries and they have beer on the menu . . . on Colorado (north side) just a bit east of Eagle Rock Blvd.

Highly recommend.

....I think there's a place called..."The GutBomb" you might want to check out too, it's close to campus. They have a great Double Patty Liverburger with 2 pounds of fries drenched in lard for $2.50.

hmmm . . . sounds tasty!

Lard is making a comeback!

Anyone else remember "liverwurst" as a weekend lunch staple with cheese and crackers?
