Quotethis version of their home unis I think are pretty darn tight.
Especially appealing is the Mount U player missing a tackle.
The johns idea works great when they lay someone out and the guy gets up to know who did it right away.
Wildcat 11, I thought you did a lot of work but this uniform guy is a maniac.

I have to put my vote on UWW's black on black uni's. Black jersey with purple numbers, with black pants. makes them look tougher/faster/better. imo.

Whitewater does sport numerous different uniforms throughout the season. All different combinations of black, purple and white. My least favorite is their purple on purple (pants and jersey). They wore those on homecoming last season. Looks like they pulled it out of the closet from he 70's, quite hiddious.

No offense intended to Wiscosin-Whitewater, but I think their unis would look better with silver as the secondary color, not black. Since silver is the color of the eagle on the helmet, that would make more sense to me. A purple and silver combination with black as the third color, would give UWW a more distinctive look. Those games with Mount Union look like intersquad games, with both teams looking the same.

Getting back to the NWC, I'd like to see Whitworth wear a red jersey with the black pants, and maybe go with solid white combo as their road option. I remember the Pirates wearing all white in some 1970s game film.

It's not an eagle!  It's a WARHAWK:D

I like the purple/black combination personally but I know it drives Voice batty.  Just not enough distinction between the two colors to make reading them from the pressbox easy.   He would probably like silver better and I think that would look good too.

I guess I'm just an old school guy - I like the purple jerseys and silver pants.  Purple is UWW's primary color.  Purple on purple is also pretty cool. A look you don't see much around college football

Millsaps wears the purple on purple with the white lids and their home uniforms look down right horrible.  Just gross.

My bad, of course. Has Warhawks always been the nickname for Wisconsin-Whitewater? Don't know why, but it almost sounds like a newer type of nickname, your helmet and uniform also seem to be a fairly recent design.

The St. John's uni is very clean, like Linfield's. It reminds of Stanford, when Elway played there, and the helmet remainds me of Penn State, during the John Cappaletti(spelling) era.

Back to the west, I prefer Redlands attire to Occidental. Don't know if the Tigers have changed their attire, but the 2004-2005 look was really boring, as if they were trying to save money with a solid black helmet, too.

I love Linfield's all Purple uniforms with the white helmet. Checkout my son's picture at the left.

IMO, both the Stagg Bowl teams black purple uniforms are <humor> like a black eye.
Agree with Voice.

Good one, Dad, Tangerine Dream, but for cryin' out loud, how could you leave out Deep Purple by Nino Tempo and April Stevens!? Heck, Bob Segar and Meat Loaf probably got over the top in their Chevy when that song came on.

(obtuse clarification for you young bucks...listen to 'Paradise By the Dashboard Light' by Meat Loaf and 'Night Moves' by Bob Segar)

I don't like the white waste band....it reminds me of a hoola hoop. I looked at the other photos on that page and they look like a pretty decent team to me....a lot of good athletes.

The all purple looked jarring to me at first, but it's grown on me.

If anybody has an extra 10K laying around maybe we could get Linfield some red alt. home jerseys?

Maybe red jerseys with purple pants? Or just some red lids to go with the all purple look? Really, I think it's gotta be red lids...

MonroviaCat

All of this talk of uniforms reminds me of looking a very old year book or something when I was at Linfield.  According to this book, Linfield's colors were once salmon and green....don't know if there was a football team at the time but can you imagine how hideous those unis would be????????

I believe Linfield adapted purple and red as their color scheme around 1926, so it's very possible the colors you mention were used prior to that time. Unfortunately, those old college yearbooks photos are in black and white, of course, so this will be difficult to track down.

When Oregon Tech fielded a football team back in the day, were the Owls' colors blue and yellow? With the talk of George Fox possibly bringing back football, I wonder if that would spark some interest for Oregon Tech to study this issue. I could be wrong, but doesn't OIT compete in the NAIA? Speaking of NAIA, what is the word in Oregon about the chances of Southern Oregon moving to D2?

OIT...not one word or mention of tech even thinking about bring football back.  I think they are very happy being a NAIA hoops power.

There have been recent articles that makes it seem like SOU is on the track of making the jump to DII.  For football that makes sense but for their other sports I don't know if that is a great fit considering they have very good non-football NAIA conference they are in currently.

I'm also keeping track on College of Idaho and their potential move to DIII/NWC.  I doubt has any plans on bring back football but they would be a great NWC fit.

D-Train +1 on the ladies in red hats.  They look SHARP!  Go 'Cats!
