Well...now the tables set!!!
Check out Adam Johnsons paragraphs in "Around the Region".
He is putting the best linen on the table with three(3) mentions for significant
West region contests all involving guess who...can you say "Go Cats".

I don't know if this is good, bad or just plain old sports op/ed.
One thing seems apparent...Linfield is still being looked at in the right way.
That is to say; Wildcats are always "in play" to win when they take the field.
I can't wait!

LINFIELD did pick up Central Wasington players this summer then?

Wasn't it Western Washington that dropped their program?

FYI, because I know that all the Linfield folks are just DYING to read my two-part Willamette season preview, we published it in the print edition yesterday.  For some reason, it hasn't been posted on our website yet.  I'll have to bug the webmaster . . .

Keith McMillan just posted up his first Around The Nation write up for the season where he breaks down the top ten D3 programs the past ten years.  He has the 'Cats coming in at number 4 and PLU ranked 8th.

Press,

Please be sure to post a link when it's online! I haven't been on campus much this week, and haven't seen the print edition.

Does anybody know if Linfield will be having a scrimmage on  Sept. 5th? And if so, what time?

Does D3football.com have a traditional cover jinx (ala Sports Illustrated)?

Here's hoping so...  ;D

Thanks Wildcat11!

I wasn't aware that Whitworth was rated #5? Since when did that occur? From the front page poll:

Your Triple Take: Which ranked team is most likely to get upset this weekend?
No. 2 UW-Whitewater
No. 5 Whitworth
No. 8 Willamette
No. 9 Wesley
No. 19 Franklin

What # is Boehme this year?

I'm sure what they wanted to say is that the Rats are at #5 HSU.  The Rats are NOT in the top 25.  It will although be an interesting read to see how they do in Texas.

I was just watching SC and the Duck cheap shot , one of the analysts said that " They should kick him off the team and let him go play DIII ball>  What a jerk thing to say

Also just wondering what everyone thinks about the HS football coach that is in court on the death of one of his players.

Since I am home sick I have lots to think about !!  I also am working on my 09 material for the board,  the sicker I get the sicker my material gets !!

Couldn't agree more about your view on the TV analyst and the classless Oregon player. I also think the Boise State player needed to tone it down, and a few of the Bronco fans should have behaved better. Regarding the D3 comment made by the announcer, it fits in with the general view of non D1 college football by some media types. It's one of the reasons The Streak received almost no coverage on the 50th year.

Good to see that SOU is still....well...SOU.

USC cornerback Shareece Wright who was declared academically ineligible this fall is done with the NCAA. He is transferring to NAIA Southern Oregon University and could be practicing with the Raiders as soon as Sept. 15th.

Yeah, this is the same Shareece Wright who was facing a felony charge and time in a Cali State Pen before the charge was reduced.  Awesome!

Wildcat11...

I just checked out the new roster/bio page on the Cats site.  I noticed one new rookie, Jay Cowling, from Grant High School in Sacramento.   Grant is always one of the premier teams in California's large school division.  It was interesting to read that Jay was all conference on a team that was undefeated and beat Long Beach Poly for the California state championsip last year.  At 175lb and 6-2, it will be interesting to see what kind of impact he will make.

Do you have any scoop on this kid, yet?
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!
