I'm sure what they wanted to say is that the Rats are at #5 HSU.  The Rats are NOT in the top 25.  It will although be an interesting read to see how they do in Texas.

I was just watching SC and the Duck cheap shot , one of the analysts said that " They should kick him off the team and let him go play DIII ball>  What a jerk thing to say

Also just wondering what everyone thinks about the HS football coach that is in court on the death of one of his players.

Since I am home sick I have lots to think about !!  I also am working on my 09 material for the board,  the sicker I get the sicker my material gets !!

Didn't hear that but anyone who did ought to fire off an e-mail to Don Ohlmeyer, the ESPN ombudsman ...

Wildcat11...

I just checked out the new roster/bio page on the Cats site.  I noticed one new rookie, Jay Cowling, from Grant High School in Sacramento.   Grant is always one of the premier teams in California's large school division.  It was interesting to read that Jay was all conference on a team that was undefeated and beat Long Beach Poly for the California state championsip last year.  At 175lb and 6-2, it will be interesting to see what kind of impact he will make.

Do you have any scoop on this kid, yet?

Grant is and has been the top Sacramento area program for a long time. De La Salle has been running scared from playing them for years. If this kid was all league at Grant then you guys got a good one.

Repete,
I just typed it up and sent it in.  It was a no class statement.

I didn't see anything wrong with what the Oregon player did.

Sincerely,

Thanks, repete.
I wrote him one, too.

The irony of that statement is pathetic, since Blount couldn't have cut it at most D3 programs with his attitude. I guess he was Mr. Everything at his CC in Mississippi, and a couple of the Oregon asst. coaches worked with him a lot last year to help him realize that D1 was a notch above his CC and he wasn't God.

Obviously it didn't sink in.

I just fired off my comments to Don O.  I was proud of myself: I didn't swear, but I was sarcastic as all get out.

Good for you, Warty.

We can hope he is being inundated with comments about the differences between D1 and D3.

I saw this... The comment was NOT from one of the ESPN analysts, it was from a viewer who wrote in with that comment...The analyst was just reading it.

Not the first time D-III football has been mocked, and certainly won't be the last.

From The Onion, Sept. 13, 2007:

QuoteMichigan Drops To Division III In Polls Following Second Loss

ANN ARBOR, MI—Coaches and players reacted philosophically Tuesday to the news that Michigan, which fell out of the USA Today polls' Top 25 following their loss to Appalachian State, is now ranked in Division III after a disastrous defeat at the hands of Oregon. "Naturally, I disagree with the voters, but as long as we're here, I think we owe it to our fans to try and make it to the [Div. III championship] Stagg Bowl at the end of the year," said Wolverines coach Lloyd Carr, who has led Michigan to four straight losses and their first 0-2 home season start since 1959. "I just hope the voters in this division's poll keep an open mind and take our strength of schedule into account." Michigan is currently ranked seventh in Division III football, ahead of fan-favorite Wesley but behind perennial powerhouse UW-LaCrosse.

QuoteWasn't it Western Washington that dropped their program?

Uh, der. Thanks. My bad.

Just doing a few tourist drives out in the colonies and oops! there's Gettysburg, oops there's Shenandoah. The DIII's are just packed in back here. Sorta DIIIcentric.

Good to see that SOU is still....well...SOU.

Per the O-Live Board:

Quote3329. Shareece Wright

by CrazyCatie, 9/4/09 12:55 ET

USC cornerback Shareece Wright who was declared academically ineligible this fall is done with the NCAA. He is transferring to NAIA Southern Oregon University and could be practicing with the Raiders as soon as Sept. 15th.

Yeah, this is the same Shareece Wright who was facing a felony charge and time in a Cali State Pen before the charge was reduced.  Awesome!

Yes, SOU is known for picking up shady characters, but Wright shouldn't be characterized as such.  Do you know the story behind him "facing a felony charge and time in a Cali State Pen", or did you purposely frame it so he sounds like a thug?
Winning isn't everything, but wanting to win is...
Practice?  We talkin about practice???
