The lighting at Oxy's field was inadequate making it hard for fans and announcers to see what was going on at times.

What, you've never seen a football game played in the dark before against a team wearing all-black uniforms? Oxy only breaks out the glow-in-the-dark footballs for conference games.

LOL
Go Cats!

CatDad

Winning ugly is always better than losing and looking good... this was a huge game for the 'Cats.... they now know that they can win a tough one on the road... if it had gone the other way this 4 game stretch would have been daunting from a mental POV. Sad news on Simon. Hang in there, we've been there.

Now it's on to Ashland and another test for the 'Cat's Road Warriors!!

I'm not thinking about the post-season just yet.

Cat Dad, please give your boy a big slap on the back for the job he did last night, too.

Will do coco... he's a bit disappointed in his performance... i look for a strong game next week!

Redlands in at 23

Proud Papa Joe

Made it home safely. There is alot of country between Gridley and L.A.
Thanks for everything fellow posters. #28 will be fine and everything does happen for a reason. Wife and I will see some of you at the SOU game.

Go Wildcats

Things turn out best for those who make the best of the way things turn out.

The Raiders are going to be tough as always at home.  They are going to be hungry for a win after barely losing to the BearKitties.  The Cats will need to bring their A game to win this one short handed!

GO CATS....ONE GAME AT A TIME!
LEAVE NO DOUBT

Mrs. C and I made the trek to the 'Dome today to watch the first half of the JV game. That was pretty fun. The young 'Cats were getting all over a team called the Buzz. They were a semi-pro team from Springfield, but the emphasis might be more on the "semi" than the "pro." Brad McKechnie was one of their studs, but not all of them were of his caliber. Some of them were just taking up space, a lot of space.

There's nothing like game experience, and some of our kids looked impressive. I liked Nasca, a freshman RB.

Glad to see the 'cats win a hard fought battle vs. a very good Oxy squad on the road. I liked our play calling in the second half which seemed to feature our strong points. I was curious about the field set-up. Did I see that right that the home team (Oxy) is across the field from the stands? That's a little different?

I was sorry to hear about Lamson's injury PPJ and Grampy....we'll keep all of you and your family in our thoughts for a speedy recovery. We'll need everybody on board as soon as possible!

Went to the Western Oregon vs Dixie State game yesterday......too bad we don't play Western this year...they really don't look good. Does anybody know if former Wildcat Tim Bowman is still coaching there?...I didn't see him on the sidelines.

Yes. The stadium has grandstands only on one side of the field. Oxy fans occupy everything from in front of the pressbox to the south, and the visiting fans get the north corner of the bleachers. The visiting team is in front of the grandstand; Oxy is on the other side of the field. Coach Widolff likes it that way.

Thanks OxyBob....I guess he likes to see the fans cheering the team on in a front view rather than from behind the team. That makes some sense but is rather unorthodox.

BTW....I thought Pat Coleman did a great job of helping out with the internet video broadcast.

Does that mean they are Training Table All-Stars?

WWU is not that good? Good riddance. At least at the peril of having your neck wrung when you see him you can tell Kevin Boss, "Nah nah nah nah nah nah, you never beat LINFIELD." He looked decent in the Giants win tonight.

Bluenote, do not let OB fool you.  I was able to get on the side of the field opposite the grandstand and there is some kind of Lance Burton illusion going on. The whole field was perfectly lit like the Staples Center. There was a little man behind a curtain......

<pretend I'm crying here>
Our dear, dear friends at the University of Puget Sound. Those who are about to die, we salute you. We will miss you. At least it should not be snowing in Whitewater this weekend.

QuoteThe Lutes certainly have a strong tradition to draw from, what's been the problem?

My guess is they won't discuss it here. We wouldn't. Perhaps a personal message to some would loosen up some insight.

no clue, thought we were on the way back, obviously not

Yes. There were some big men, there. Not boys.  A relative who had a close-up view said some had graying hair. Speed was not their strongest attribute.

Ditto about the Good Riddance to WOU.

I'd love to kick Western's ass!

Tim Bowman is no longer coaching there.

We saw Simon Lamson at the game today. Several of the players came to the JV game after they got back, which was about 45 minutes before the JV game started. Lamson had his sling on but looked okay otherwise. He'll be back!

Coco,
It was probably written here somewhere but I missed it.....what was the score of the JV game and how did the young Cats look?
