Proud Papa Joe

Good Morning, Good Morning. Got home at 3am from Ashland. I got to say this is the best Linfield team I have watched play in my short 3years watching. Defense set the tone early with a crushing blow behind the lind of scrimage, what a great way to start the game. Offense sputtered abit early but then the lit up the skys. Nice to see the big plays. (Passing and Running).

Great turn out by the Wildcat faithful. Nice to see everyone. Even the Tailgate crew made the trip and showed there presence along the sideline. Very intimadating. If I was on the opposing sideline I wouldn't want to look across at Glenn and crew pacing the sideline.

Number 4 was a stud on both sides of the ball. Throwing for TD's and picking off passes.

I can see it allready. When we are 8-0 going for 9-0 there will not be a place to park in the Tailgate area. The Motorhomes will be rolling in.

I love this game.

Great job Cats. Keep up the hard work

Bluenote,
If you watch it next time on Internet Explorer rather than Mozilla Firefox it is a much bigger screen and much more enjoyable viewing. ....

Thanks CamCat...I don't have that browser installed (have Firefox and Safari) but I will do so and try it next time!

Surely you can't be serious. It's La Verne not Laverne.

You're absolutely right.  My mistake.  I should have been, and will be, more careful.

Obviously La Verne is not the same since Shirley and her broke up.

BTW...Linfield 61...Glad to hear it was poor choice of words.  The young ones were trying their best on that last drive and while keeping SOU down to only 14 would have been nice in the grand scheme of things it didn't matter at that point.  Linfield dominated from pillar to post.

Congrats to Linfield on their big win and season so far...the front page question made me wonder what you guys think of your team this year. How do you feel it compares to past Linfield teams?

DutchHawk,

Very promising, but it is only three games so far.    And, a tall order to match the teams of 2002-2005.

GO CATS GO

GO CATS! GO!

Thats what I am wondering, hard to make comparisons like that when you have only played 3 games though. Best of luck to you guys the rest of the season!

We are starting to feel pretty good here in Iowa too...we have a real young team thats playing well, comparisons to our quarterfinal run in 07 have been made. Maybe we can meet up again in the playoffs ;) Thats a long ways away, until then...leave no doubt :)

Agreed, much can happen, we're only 33% into the season, but this team appears capable of bringing back the NWC crown to McMinnville. When Lamson returns, the running game looks to be back in 2004 form.
Watched the video feed from my computer, it looked like it was taken from the SOU coaches pressbox camera. Really wide shots, but it was helpful to see shots of the scoreboard. Hopefully, some of the NWC schools will be offering this free service for people who can't attend the games.

Wildcats jump to #8, Bearcats move up to #18.  I think that's fair for both teams.

Also, a nice column in today's Statesman Journal about Speckman.

:) :) :)What a great Saturday afternoon my teams had!!  Congrats, Linfield for beating SOU!!  D.O.C. has already promised that LC has softened SOU for their next game!!  Looks like the CATS are rolling along well this fall.  Let it keep on coming!!  BC won as well, but we played in the driving rain.  I couldn't believe I said through the whole thing, and even had to change my hoodie at half-time because it was soaked even though I had on my rain slicker.  I kept hearing my Mom's words (which is why I wasn't calling her) that I would get sick and all the germs would head straight for my new hip.  However, i got to hear the beautiful sound of the ringing of the bells after the win and all the hugs from my players and that made for a wonderful conclusion to a great afternoon, though whether I'll ever be warm or dry again is another story.  WC11--UPS over UWW, I think there was something in the water or something.  they prevailed and UMHB did as well.  So programs and people I like are going forward in this campaign and I hope it will continue!!  We begin ODAC play on Saturday next.  And it would be Hampden-Sydney, the biggest rival we have.  It should be a really difficult game.  I sure hope we're up to the task, and Ièm thinking positive thoughts!!  And for my Linfield friends, I say
GO!!  FIGHT!!  WIN!!  CATS!!!  THE TIME IS NOW AND IT IS YOUR MOMENT!!  REACH FOR IT!!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

WildCat 64,

Top 10 for the Cats, things are getting exciting once again. Speaking of top 10 how about
Dave's Top 10

Why don't you and Sarah Palin celebrate the victory with a nice intimate moose meat dinner together.  She's getting awfully busy "readin" all those newspapers and books and stuff to prepare herself for her next press excluded Fat Cat investors strategy presentation and may not be able to fit you in her schedule.  If she really studies up she may have some highly profitable investment advice those fat cats may just lap right up.

If  not available just give Tina Fey a call.  You'll hardly know the difference.

Your post was MUCH funnier (albeit, presumably unintentionally) when you had 'mouse meat' before 'correcting' to 'moose meat'! ;D

Linfield has a couple more tough road trips ahead in the next 2 weeks so I wouldn't pay much attention to the polls right yet..... (I did peek though  ;D )

I was surprised (pleased, but surprised) to see Linfield take such a jump.  I thought voters might now discount what (at the time) seemed like THE signature win: HSU is now 1-3.  I guess that plus @Oxy plus @SOU still struck the voters as an overall 'meat-grinder' schedule.  Congrats! :)
