Question for you former players- I was always in the band.

I've always thought that Whitworth played a "clean" game- even when they were beating the 'Cats. Which teams did you play against that were consistently full of "good guys who played hard" and which teams frequently "played dirty."

That's a pretty easy one PA...the Lutes always seemed to be the classiest team in my opinion.  In the other category, you would be hard pressed to out dirty SOSC (now SOU) and WOSC (now WOU).

Yes indeed, Linfield continues to hold the oldest winning streak in the history of college football at all levels. I believe the Cats are at least a decade better than any other program too, from Notre Dame to Mount Union. One of the amazing facts about this record is the fact Linfield has only had three 5-4 marks over these 54 years.  The other interesting coaching history of this record is that Henry Lever coached Paul Durham, Durham coached Ad Rutschman, and Rutschman coached Joe Smith. It goes back to the Linfield way of football. Of course, Ed Langsdorf and Jay Locey were very successful head coaches during their careers at Linfield, too.
