No one is ever going to give you and OAS credit for burying the hatchet after your spat some odd years ago. We reveled in that.

More sad news in the paper this morning for Whitworth football.  QB Andrew Durant out for the year with broken vertebrae in his back.  That means #3 QB freshman Eglet will start the rest of the season (if he stays healthy).  Open tryouts anyone?

Wow!

Know what you mean about streaks of bad luck. No more back luck for him, please.

May he recover all the way back.

Dens: Credit?  Credit for what?

Hey 11: When are you going to start passing around the collection plate for OAS to make his annual appearance in McMinnville to slobber all over the 'Cats?  Better hit up GHC and his cronies for a hundo each....

It certainly was a memorable game the last time OAS came out to McMinnville. ;D

Awful news about Durant.  Is it time to put together an All-NWC injured list?

Too bad for rats qb durant. Hopefully he makes a full recovery. The 3rd qb looked decent last weekend at least.

Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Probably in the next couple of weeks.  Actually, Del Smith from Evergreen Aviation is going to have his G4 head out to MSP to scoop Adam up for the weekend where we'll have a box of free Linfield swag waiting for AJ when he lands.  From there, we have a "Welcome oAs" party lined up at Hotel Oregon in downtown Mac.  Then, I'll take AJ to see former New York Yankee World Series MVP and current 'Cats head baseball coach, Scott Brosius, where Scott will present AJ with his 1998 World Series ring as a token for all the great pub AJ has provided the 'Cats.

Just another typical weekend for when Adam makes it out to the 'Catdome

Be sure to award OAS the Nobel Peace Prize for sports journalism while you're at it. Seems like anyone can qualify for one nowadays.  ;)

BTW, why do you suppose you cannot pick up internet TV feeds in Hawaii? You can post here easily. Computer speed? I've been to libraries to watch games before  :)

I can catch CatEye View without any problems, but for some reason I couldn't catch last weeks game, it said "not valid in current state." Oh well, I'm happy I'll be able to watch the last few home games.

Depending on my workload, I'm hoping to make it to the Willamette game.

Dens: How long have you been around on Post Patterns?  Do you remember the Battle Royale's that OAS and I used to have?  Man those were some great feuds in 2000, 2001, 2002.  We are pals though now as I am on to his schtick.  Touchdown Tommy is a kinder, gentler soul these days.

GHC: What is the line on the 'Cats vs Lewis and Clark this week?  Are you nervous?  TDT saw your twitter account last night and will be "following" you shortly...

TDT,

Let me tell you a story that I've heard about Dens (if he doesn't mind).  GHC and Dens attended Linfield back in the day when Linfield Legend Ted Wilson was the basketball coach and the 'Cats played in the tiny barn of a gym (Riley Gym).  I guess the whole crowd was pretty much on top of the floor.  At that time the 'Cats had a very damn good hoops team and was of playoff caliber year in and year out.

The way it went is that Dens would attend the games but he wouldn't sit in the student section or even with the crowd.  Dens would bring a folding chair into the games and sit near the baseline or in the opposite corner from the crowd (correct me if I'm wrong Dens).  When the 'Cats had a team on the ropes and Dens thought the game was in hand he would stand up, fold up his chair, and leave.  The Linfield crowd caught on and knew when Dens left the game was over.

The best part of this story is that the 'Cats had a playoff game at Riley Gym one year and on the opening tip, Linfield took the opening possession in for a score to open up a 2-0 lead.  Right then, Dens stood up, folded up his chair and left.  I guess the place went crazy and the 'Cats went on and rolled for a big win.

It's Homecoming weekend and time for the prennial pummelling of the pugnacious, pusillanimous, pussyfooting pios from Portland.

It may not be fair to "P" all over them as after all they do show up, give it their best effort and I'm sure seek to improve, and you have to think if they stay it they will and we will be having some of those tough games back in the day we used to have with them.

WC11 says, "They brought in the largest freshman class in about 2 decades at L&C and are developing some nice players" on Catdomealumni.com.  That's impressive.

I can empathize as I wasn't much of a football player myself. Looking forward to seeing lots of friends and enjoying the game this weekend.

That's a great little story, legendary... like we say here in the islands...I get "chickn' skin."
Reminds me of that Gene Hackman movie "Hoosiers," another great story.

OK, I'm getting all melancholy now.
Anyway, If any of you posters make it to the Homecoming game, please give my boy, #93 a big hug and tell him "Pops" loves and misses him.

That's such a shame about Durant's broken vertebrae. Injuries are a part of the game, but you hate to see them.

Regarding Adam Johnson, is it any wonder that the Linfield fans like him? He's a personable young man who has enjoyed his trips out here and writes very well about the West Region, including the Wildcats. What's not to like?
