Thanks D-Train....then that's on whoever wrote the release on Pacific's facebook page.  For a moment there I thought we might have another Willenbrock in the conference.  Appreciate you clearing that up.

Speaking of Pacific, here is a "This Week In Linfield Football History" flashback that any longtime Linfield fan will remember:  http://podcasts3.stretchinternet.com/linvideo/fb/thisweekinhistory.101709.mov

Yeah, whoever posted that quote isn't doing Coach Buckley any favors (despite their intent).  It sounds close to something he said during the interview...but the context was important.  It was more like 'our challenge is to change the mindset that the only choice for D3 recruits is between Linfield and Willamette'.  I still thought it was a little too focused on the competition rather than what Pacific has to offer (not to mention the rest of the NWC and the SCIAC) - but not in the way the facebook post made it sound.

Guess it was to fit within the 140 Twitter characters.

Yeah, but it was on a facebook announcement.   :-\  I did get to watch the clip and like D-Train said..that wasn't exactly what he said (even though it was quoted as such) and it wasn't his intent.  He seems like a pretty good guy...so far.  :)

Yeah, but like many SIDs, the facebook and twitter feeds are tied together.

Thanks Coco,
I try and do my part.  She was a good sport !!  Tell Mrs Coco to get better.  If I had known she was not feeling well I could have delivered her some longies that would have killed  ALL of the germs for sure !!

GHC

Coco Jr's wife is a sweetheart.
Appreciate the offer for the longies for Mrs C. Those might have helped. My dad used to swear by a shot of good whiskey. She'd planned to make you cookies, but said she would the next game you make it to.

What does everyone think of this young man? Is he the backup to Aaron Williams? I'd like to see him in action against a better defense, but I think he showed pretty good speed and power. Also, he made an amazing catch that turned into a really long gain- he could be a huge weapon for this offense catching passes out of the backfield. Aaron Williams is doing an amazing job, but maybe Avritt could fill in for the two back look they started with this year in the absence of Lamson.

BTW- Where are all the Willamette posters? Do they have any?

Gig Harbor Cat

I will be down on Friday, I have a high level meeting to update my insider information.  AM I will be meeting the boys for some intense tailgate action at the Catdome (south)  We shouldn't be too hard to find.  I am even bringing Mojo the hound doggie with me on this trip.  A little extra MOJO never hurts.

Peace out

Here's the link to new Pacific coach Keith Buckley's recent interview (if others are interested). It's about 7 minutes long.

I'll answer CatCrazy358's post here instead of the break out thread.

I like Taylor and he's been doing a great job along with Kevin Abbott in rotating in that 2nd running back slot.  I like the staff's rotation and I wouldn't change a thing.  Both Abbott and Avritt are deserving and both are being productive.

For Willamette posters...Bearcat Press has been a strong Willamette poster along with River and Bearcat Fan.  If Willamette wins this weekend then expect about 15 new Bearcat posters on here beating their chests...that's the way it usually works.

D O.C.

But that Neverland scenario will not be in play so I volunteer to be the scout team Bscat poster this week.

Let me begin with We scored more on Lewis and Clark than you did!

I'll play along---  "Yeah--but Lewis and Clark scored more off of you!"  :P
Go Cats!

Isn't it about time we hear from behemothsdad (or whatever his name is)?

At least we beat you by a point in 2007 kicked your Cass last year.

I like the idea of D O.C. wearing my red Willamette hoodie and carrying a notepad for the scout team.  I'm still here, just taking a little hiatus during a week I have four big papers due.  Fortunately, it coincides with Linfield week, when I usually take a step back anyway.

While I'm here though, Saturday will see a bunch of alumni inducted into the Hall of Fame, including probably the best quarterback ever to wear a Willamette uniform:

I'm not exactly well-versed in Willamette QB's before the 1990's.  But there's no question that Pinkerton was outstanding running the Fly for some very, very good Bearcat teams.

+1.  Still say that if Pinkerton didn't break his leg in the '97 semi-finals that Willamette would have won that championship game.

That fracture was a tragedy, and the final game was one of the rare times I was hoping for a Willamette win. Findlay had beaten us for the championship a few years earlier. Congrats to Pinkerton.  He was outstanding.

I also like Taylor Avritt. Anyone with that last name has good genes! We have awesome RBs.

Looking forward to seeing you and Mojo on Saturday, GHC.
