I'm a little disappointed in my fellow poster's negativity following yesterday's game.  It was a great game and both teams should be proud of their performances.  Why do we need get into a pissing contest about stuff that has nothing to do with the game or the players on the field.  So a fan said Linfield Sucks---So did Linfield posters (about Willamette) on this board a few days ago (and yes, I get the difference between that and in front of kids).  Point being--with all the talk of class or lack thereof, it is pretty clear to me that no matter what program you talk about there are always at least few people who lack class (win or lose).  That's my 2 cents.

Agree 100% MCat. Wish I could have been there. I was on the edge of my seat just listening over the net. Sounded like a well played game by two well coached and very good teams. Don't take your foot off the gas Wildcats.
Good luck to the Bearcats the rest of the way. I'll get to see you at Menlo.

@ GHC ...

I think that most kids of about, oh, age four or higher, have heard the word "sucks" before - if that's the worst a kid has heard I'd say they've led a very very sheltered life!

And I'm pretty sure that the words "<insert name of opposing team here>  Sucks" have probably been yelled by boisterous Wildcat fans in McMinnville before, too. I guess a few bad apples spoil the whole bushel, huh? Sad but true. But I don't think it's representative of all Willamette fans any more than I would think that all Linfield fans lack some level of class if I were to hear "Willamette Sucks" yelled at the Catdome.

If we want to talk about the actual game ...

GHC, you know there's a difference between losing a starting RB at the start of the season and losing him a couple of days before your biggest game of the year.  I was really impressed with how Jamiere Abney filled in for him.

Quote from: UKCat on October 25, 2009, 12:09:53 PMWU is not as complete experienced a team as Linfield and the scoreboard told the story.

I agree with your slightly modified post. ;)  Linfield had great poise and it showed.  But here's what's exciting: of the eleven Willamette offensive starters on Saturday, we'll be returning nine.

BearcatFan - I know for a fact that McCulloch Stadium only seats 2400 people.  That's out of our media guide.  The info on D3football is incorrect.

As for the other stuff, are we actually doing this again?

We don't really like you.  You don't really like us.  It's a backyard rivalry.  What do you expect?  High-fives and orange slices for everybody?  Sheesh ...

Thanks, BCP! 2400 + North End Zone makes a lot more sense! It was SRO in the stands.

Majeski really should push for East Bleachers!

It was also nice to see Bubba Lemon get run over by Boehme.

Good morning fellow posters. PPJ is home. Great trip. Left at 0300hrs Saturday morning and got home at 0300hrs Sunday morning. Then I got called out at 0730hrs to do a service call for a Farmer. Life is good. Just got settled in to read up on the board.

Like Gig said him and I got to watch the game together and yes there was some Pound The Rock going on. Great job Aaron. When Simon returns for Playoffs we could have one of the best Backfields in all of D3. That includes Abbot and Avritt.

So got to say it truley was a great game. And thats not just because Linfield won its because there were to good teams out there with no quit in either of them. There was mistakes made on both sides of the ball by both teams but "Thats why they play the game". Football theres nothing better.

First time I got to watch a game at WU. Nice Stadium and very loud at times. The Linfield fans where great. Never did hear the PA. I guess thats a good thing.

Thanks Gig for the entertainment. I had a great time and you are to funny at times. I will see all of you on Nov. 21st. I am sure they can win the last two games without me. Great job Cats. Oh and yes the O-line did a great job. Them boys are Studs.

Just how good can the Cats be if everything clicks. Are we talking Championship here. I think there is a possibility. Can't wait.

Hey 11 great job as always, but next time make it down to the oldfolks at the endzone. Don't just stop at the kiddies.

Go Wildcats

Really like both of the WU Frosh QB's.  I think Willamette would be better off in moving Whitcomb to receiver or defense.

In regards to Linfield...returning 8-9 starters on Defense along with Boehme and the RB corp next year so I'm pretty excited about that, however, that's next season.  Linfield fans still have much to be excited about right now.   ;D

Bubba getting "trucked" by Aaron was a highlight for me as well!!

I wonder if Bubba is thinking he's snake bit. Every team he plays for doesn't win the Conference title. hmmmmm

Widing and Ramay (not necessarily in that order) are going to be big factors in WU's future. I'm hoping "third time is the charm" for Ryan next season @ QB - WR or Defense would not be a good move for him. Here's to a speedy recovery for Whitcomb, and a healthy 2010 as a Grad student; in the meantime he's got a lot of knowledge to share with the "Dynamic Duo" of Widing and Ramay.

Hmmmm indeed! Isn't the conference championship decided AFTER conference play concludes?

D O.C.

You all are probably wondering how the surf was this AM...
3 foot, 65 degree water and bright 70 degree sun BECAUSE things always go better after a big win over a team that was just a 'tip' away from destiny.  :(

Careful now, Mikey ran off a 40 yarder to keep WU's hopes up.

You really think Linfield will lose their last 2 games?

Actually, if PLU beats Whitworth, Menlo and then the Cats---our Autobid goes to the Lutes (if I'm not mistaken).  Meaning the Cats would only have to lose one game.  I'm not saying this is likely--just clarifying a possible scenario....and PLU seems to be getting better each week so the Cats need to stay focussed for the next two games before they worry about Championships and playoffs
Go Cats!
