Exactly. Scoring was so quick there was not much running. Even short yardage was a pass. But it did bite us in the end  :) .
I like the balance we've got this year but it would be nice to see less dropped passes and/or less off target passes....especially when the line gives QB time to throw and WRs time to get open...hopefully we can improve on this in the next two weeks and roar into the playoffs! :)

Easy M-Cat...you're starting to sound like those old timers during the '05 season that started yelling at Locey because the offense wasn't scoring fast enough.  ;)

...and if one of those errant passes gets picked, how do you feel about who just might have to run the guy down?  The guy who threw it, right?

OK guys , lets do this

Bearkitties   FLUSH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They are gone

Lets get ready for UPS.  All I care about is the boys coming out crisp on Sat and taking care of UPS.

Besides with 18 of 22 Linfield starters returning next year including ROCKETMAN  All of that talk will take care of itself

Just pointing out areas for improvement---we hit a few more of those passes and we start looking more like the 04-05 teams... :)

As a strong and long time Linfield fan, I have to agree with you.    Trash talk is just that.

Speaking of trash talk...

Is it true this was overheard in the WU locker room on Saturday, "Playoffs? Playoffs?" Thank you Jim Mora. ;)
Remember, folks—like all rivalries, trash-talking is best when it's done in good fun. And if worse comes to worse, you can always make fun of the cheerleaders.  ::)
As far as Linfield versus Willamette...You know what they say. "Sometimes you get the bear, other times the bear gets you."
This time we got the bear(cats).

If it makes them any happier...

LINFIELD'S LAW SCHOOL SUCKS!

And to make GHC happy

So does UPS's!

As for point 2---I agree that the 04-05 team was probably better than the 09 team has been so far (with the exception of the 09 team having a better running game)

(As a preface, this is NOT a slight against the current/recent teams, just a refresher on a few things because...) Oh how quickly we forget. In no large part to myself, 2004 was a juggernaught. Yes the running game was suspect most of the time, but that team absolutely dominated nearly everyone in our way. Consider just these scores:

48 to 14
52 to 14
56 to 27
52 to 0

For those that weren't around or paying attention at the time, those are the scores vs a very good willamette (who's only other losses were to MHB in double OT 1st week by 3, and at E. Oregon by 7), and then the 1st three rounds of the playoffs before Elliot played the championship game with a lingering concussion.

Again, no disrepect to former, current or potentially future guys, but that team was ridonkulous, and not just the offense. The defense really started rolling once they had a chance to figure things out with new leadership and Bertrand was able to get back on the field after tearing his MCL. Then you had guys like Ellis and Tawata knocking guys out of the game on kick-offs. It used to be a game for us to bet if somone would need to be helped off the field by a trainer. I can't recall many teams running a wedge return for more than 2 or 3 kickoffs to start the game. And if they did, their guys weren't too committed to it.

Las Vegas Wildcards

If Southern Oregon is successful in moving to D2, Would Linfield consider replacing the Raiders on future schedules with NAIA Eastern Oregon? Do schools like Mount Union, Wisconsin Whitewater, and St. Johns ever play D2 teams?

Hey Cut City!

You've got every right to defend your team. You guys weren't national champions by accident. Man, you were fun to watch -- on both sides of the ball. It was a special year.

No one should take offense at your post. You made yourself clear, but as the team you guys were, it's only natural that you are going to be held up as a model for other teams to compare themselves to.

Outstanding post Cut City. The '04 and '05 Wildcats were spectacular. What a pleasure to watch them play and have our son on the o-line. :)

I hope not. I'd rather play only D3 schools, and next year we'll have Pacific.  That still leave us with just nine games, and ten would be  better, IMO, but I don't know what the coaches feel about SOU or EOU.
