Right on the money as always George.  36 pts to an 0-8 team?  Yahtzee!!!

....and it's not a good thing when TDT is telling you that you're "right on the money as always".

My sentiments exactly, WC11.

These guys are college kids, not pros, and they are students first. No team is perfect every single game. Better to get the off day out of their system now, instead of in the playoffs. Now they know what they have to work on.

Hey TDT
I remember a certain bad day the Johnnies D had against the Dutch in last years playoff....better bad day now than later. ;D
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

D O.C.

I'm tellin' you it was Hall :o ween that was the problem.

Congrats to UPS for coming up with an offense that put some points on the board and made a game out of it.  We don't need any OAC hacks that lay down for Mt. Union on cue.... ;D

For anyone that might be interested, photos from the Oaks - Pios game have been posted.

That's sweet, cris! Take advantage of Cats giving up 36 points to a winless team (which more than doubled their previous high in points) to take a slap at the OAC! That's beautiful! I guess you don't have any of those (hacks). Puget would play Mount tough right?  ;D

Of course it's hard to know because the last I checked the NWC doesn't have a Mount either.

Congrats to Linfield and the Staff on going 8-0 and clinching an NWC title and playoff spot.  Linfield fans appreciate all of your hard work and effort to bring home another conference title.

Speaking of playoff spots... I should be making travel arrangements, yeah?
But when and where?
Thanks in advance for any help.

For all those nay sayers about the record and ability of UPS.....the offense that UPS put on the field yesterday with their brand new Division IA QB from Sacramento State is not the same team that played the first 7 games of the season.  The previous 7 opponents are just plain lucky they didn't face this team yesterday (SIAC and MIAC conferences included).
With this kid as the new field general their record today would have many wins.
LEAVE NO DOUBT

I said it once and I'll say it again but only stronger... Offensively, UPS played up to their level of competition meaning Linfield is the #5 ranked team in DIII, a historically GREAT program, and plays on the finest facility and has the most awesome fan base anywhere. Therefore, give them credit!

So far as our CATS, our defensive performance enabled any naysayers to erupt with unwarranted condemnation. As you all are aware, football is offense, defense, and special teams. With the defense coping, the offense (as usual) displayed magnificent firepower. And let's hear some accolades for special teams, especially for the Sequeira kid.

We have two weeks to prepare for the Lutes. Coach Smith, his staff, and all the CATS shall remedy any problems and will strive to gain a victory against PLU, an unbeaten season, and a home field playoff game (or two).

Be Proud - we are Linfielders!

Spencer Crace, UPS QB has been on their roster since 2006.   I can only assume that somehow things changed this week and the Loggers offense finally clicked.

Yes, many scores against LC came late.    I am just concerned.   And, this score will not help us for playoff home field advantage.

Congrats to UPS for one tough game.    Congrats to Linfield for a big win.

Onto PLU!

the cat d is awesome. they simply faced a juggernaut.

That may be true, but the Willamette Bearcats did even better and held another juggernaut scoreless this weekend.

GO BEARCATS!! !

The Transfer played a few downs yesterday but was not the guy who made things hard for the Linfield D yesterday---That QB has been on the Roster since 2006 and had a lot of playing time 2 years ago. .  However, the offense that UPS employed yesterday was much different than what they've shown in the rest of the games because their starting QB (K. Williams) did not play.  He is the running QB and for whatever reason, the coaches have stuck with a run heavy offense all season despite the results.  Yesterday, the passing QB played the whole game (except for a play or two where he was banged up).  UPS threw more passes yesterday than they have in all the other games combined.  I suspect that the Cats weren't expecting this but that certainly doesn't explain their difficulty adjusting.  I'm hoping that we can flush this one and get the D back on track for PLU and the play-offs.

Ditto what Monrovia says... after talking with the 'Cats after the game UPS ran an offense that the 'Cats did not see on film or prepare for so they were playing catch up all game.... been a part of those before and it's the championship teams that grow and become better because of these experiences.... they will be prepared for PLU and they will be better because of this game.... It's a long season and a win is a win on the way to a championship....

GO 'CATS!!
