I think that's the most profound thing you've ever said!  A win IS a win!

We got the party barge out of Hood Canal last two weeks ago.  Uggh...damn barnacles.  Oh well, the very small price you pay for paradise in the summer.

I know how hyper the LINFIELD posters are during a bye week so I'm wondering what activities you have planned.
Besides surfing, of course.

Where do huntin' and fishin' seasons stand?

Family and home activities would probably have to go first. I imagine.

No family left so I'll tour what's called the "Bourbon Trail" in a location far, far away from Peavine. It's my understanding there are 3, maybe more, bourbon distilleries within 20 minutes of each other. Wouldn't it be a kick if the tours were like "touring" Blitz Brewery back in the day?

Bub's,
We are going to have to connect up here sometime.  We could go all out, like back in the day.  How much beer do you think you can get for a Fifty dollar bill these days ?

Bbad- +K -Thank you, I try and do my part.  I just call them the way I feel, winning on a bad day is a sign that you have a pretty good club.  Average clubs don't usually win on a bad day.

Tuxguy,

Just to keep things "interesting", I'll do it again.  However it's rationalized, however great UPS played employing an offense they've never even used in a game before, the facts are still the facts.

Whether I am from Oregon or Maine or somewhere in between, Linfield still gave up 36 points to a team that has not won or scored more than 14 points in a game.

My guess (educated or uneducated), is that Linfield did not play very good defense and has work to do (more than tweaking) to have a realistic chance at going to the Stagg Bowl.

I never labeled the problem "unfixable". I never even said it was a big problem! I simply said more than tweaking was probably necessary!

Another observation from outside the Great Northwest: It seems like there's a current that runs through the NWC threads that is overly protective of the "boys on the team".  Statements like: "These are just college kids." I don't think the "kids" are given enough credit. When Timmy the Cat plays bad, he plays bad. There's nothing wrong with saying it.  He can handle it. We aren't saying Timmy is a bad person.

If you are a Linfield defensive player reading this, I'm pretty sure I didn't hurt your feelings. Your unit didn't play well Saturday. My guess is one of your coaches may have alluded to this fact already. Work hard, get better, chase your dreams. Most of us on the board would do anything to have those days back, so enjoy the chase!

Are you upset that we didn't call out individual players and list the mistakes they made? Some boards have posters who do that, but we never have. The coaches will take care of the problem.

Yes, it was a bad game. Yes, UPS scored a lot of points on us, but it's OVER.

I have not seen one Linfield poster mention the Stagg Bowl, and I seriously doubt that the coaches or players are discussing it either. They are focusing on PLU.

It's time to let the UPS game go.

Warty,
No, the Coco on Rush Limbaugh was not me! Pretty funny, though.

bleedpurple...I'm smiling all the way....It's always fun to see who is going to take the bait.... ;D....We'd love to do a home and home with Mount any time.

Chris,

WHAT YOU SAID!!

You have to be one of the MOST intuitive guys on the boards! I was going to post your quote above to any reaction, but before I checked again, your response about me smiling was already on the board! Good Job in exposing the bait and not taking it! I'm cool with loving your guys! Heck, I'm a  CUBS FAN! D3 football loyalty is downright honorable. Being a Cub fan is sick!!!   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Fair enough Coco. Not upset by anything, actually.  Although the written word is a difficult way to express a tongue in cheek, jab, I try to do it without the smiley face thing because somewhere inside the jabs is a light hearted point. Truth be told, I respect the D3 athlete more than any other. I think we fans get carried away sometimes and I think it's fun to call each other on it from time to time. My assumption is that EVERYONE who has discovered D3BOARDS  loves D3 and the kids who play it. I think the Cats are good. Otherwise I wouldn't bother extending the jabs. To give some context, usually I am jabbing Mount fans!

Lever Street

It's time for the Cats to get healthy and prepare for PLU.  Nothing else matters right now.

Go Linfield!
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

Ah, you outed yourself...................I was enjoying the fact that a few of the NWC posters seemed to assume you were a Mount guy!   ;)

And BTW, congrats on the karma priviledges now that you passed 200 posts!  A big responsibility so use it wisely.   ;) :D

I have a playoff seeding question here concerning Linfield.  Assuming the Cats defeat PLU, regardless of the margin, is Linfield a safe bet to host a first round playoff game?

Pretty much....though there is always the rare possibility that they get shipped off somewhere (but that is unlikely given that they are probably going to be in the top 4 regional rankings, and one West team (Whitewater) could be moved to another region, AND the NCAA would prefer just to ship the SCIAC team North rather than shipping both NWC and SCIAC teams eastward).
Go Cats!

Busch Light 16oz. 18 pack now 11.75 at the local 76 station.  Quick math tells me that might git'er done.

Thanks, it would be great if the D3 Selection show on ESPN News was streamed on this website for those of us who don't get that channel.
