Gimme a break. Nowhere did I use the phrase "poor sportsmanship." I know PLU is better than that. I think Frosty's shoes have been hard to fill, however, and I'll end there.

And don't judge all Linfield fans by me. The rest of them are people of much higher caliber.
Two words:  THE STREAK

D O.C.

QuoteOnly Linfield fans could find a way to accuse PLU (seriously, of all programs - PLU!) of lacking class.

I would think the LINFIELD faithful would think their 2nd-3rd could beat anybody in the league, wouldn't they?
Where's the beef?

George Thompson

This Linfield team is potent.    Great O-line.   Exceptional passing.    And their best running attack in many years.    The defense has always risen to the challenge.    They did beat Willamette, an outstanding team that would defeat several playoff-bound  teams.    Last, they beat Oxy and WU, their two toughest games, on the road.

In the playoffs I see LC as underdogs only against MU or UWW.   Facing either Central or St. John's on the road will be tough; but, from what I have seen, the Wildcats will give either a major challenge.     The Wildcats are very road-experienced.

Linfield may very well go a long way in the playoffs.    But, they have to win game 1 first.

GO CATS! GO!

Great first half yesterday by the Cats.  Glad the young
Cats got considerable time.  It was great to see Simon get some game reps.  Having him game tested is a good thing for the playoffs.
As for how the game played out. we were playing all the way down the chart to our 4's against the Lute #1 O in the second half.  No biggie.  My take is that by keeping the game out of reach and our guys on the side we will give CLU 1/2 game  less of tape to prepare with for next weeks game at the Catdome.
As for PLU, they don't have much now but I can see where they are in a rebuilding mode.  This game was never in doubt.

Finally thank you to Glen and all of the boys on the corner for helping Wildct 11 sell his Catdome shirts yesterday.  Everyone needs to know to stop by and spend $10 for a Catdome shirt.  100% of the proceeds goes to the Sr Cat players Helmets for Hunger program and will put food on the table during the holiday season for the needy.  So it doesn't matter that the shirts are pretty cool.  MAKE A FRICKIN DONATION FOR A GREAT CAUSE.
Great tailgate action yesterday.  Special thanks to Mrs Coco for the cookies--They are awesome.
See you all next week

I think there are some 'Cats around here that feel Linfield has a score to settle with CalLu from that game in the 70's!  :)

In regards to yesterday, yeah "if" the 'Cats kept their first team in the whole game it could have been much more lopsided but it wasn't and who really cares at this point.  We're once again 9-0, conference champs, and have a home playoff game(s).  Congrats to Linfield and the Coaching Staff for proving all the doubters and complainers wrong.  Great work!

CatDad

I don't begrudge PLU keeping their ones in... but the going for 2 was the tipping point for the coaching staff I believe.... i just think yesterday's game took the LC/PLU rivalry to another level of intense... should be fun next year...... all that aside...

THE SECOND SEASON BEGINS

and after being around the boys again this weekend... they aren't done... not resting on their laurels... these boys are looking to bigger and better things...

GO CATS!!!

Scott Westering didn't do his namesake very proud yesterday by the way he had is team playing in the second half, taunting, onside kicking and going for two despite being hopelessly behind. We would have put up 80 on them and held them to 7 had we left our first team in.

I don' think he did himself any good with the Linfield coaching staff and that's likely to be relfected in the future. Meanwhile, Westering has to be struggling to keep his job. He's now got an overall losing record. In his six season, he has only had two winning seasons, has gone 3-6 three times, including the last two and has never beaten Linfield. The Wildcats have now won 8 straight and nine of 10.

My theory is that D3 coaches don't usually get fired for losing with two exceptions -- they do something really bad off the field or they become a stumbling block to a big fund raising effort or they screw up a great winning tradition and the latter is what's happening at PLU.

Only Linfield fans would whine about another team trying to come back, against all odds, and win the game.  Does anybody expect PLU to ever give up?  Frosty wouldn't have.

Is anybody shocked when the Lutes pull out the trick plays?  Come on, just deal with it.

That's three exceptions, not two.   ;)

I need to modify my last post to separate the sentences "Is anybody shocked when the Lutes pull out the trick plays?  Come on, just deal with it." from the quote from UKCat.  He isn't saying that.  I am.
