Any word on a live video feed for the game this weekend? Trying to make it out there but don't know if it will happen. Would appreciate a link!

LU BALL coming soon to Linfield

All Linfield has said is that they are in discussions for a live feed. They had one throughout the home season, and although you had to pay $12, the quality was excellent. Replays and multiple cameras included.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Something tells me there exists an NCAA ruling on what you can televise. Remember, it's their show.

The funny things is, the email contradicts past playoffs. In the past, they have even seeded the top 4 seeds by strength to determine who plays in the semifinals. Taken at face value, that email would indicate that a mt union or st johns would have the possibility of going on the road for the quarterfinals, and that is not going to happen. Ever.

Spiritof86,

That did happen.   In 2002 LC hosted St. John's here in McMinnville in the West Region finals (quarterfinals).    We had been seeded #1 in 2002, 2004 and 2005.    I remember the seedings well.   And we were seeded #3 in 2003.    Not sure where we were seeded in 2000.

I seriously doubt what Shonna meant, because it does contradict our understanding of the past many years.

OK .....Pat we need a clarification on this seeding thing.....no seeds in the past?....WRONG! They've always had seed in the past....how else do they determine where they teams play after the 1st round?  ???

As you astutely noticed the NCAA official bracket has LINFIELD listed at 10-0.

Let's say they did have a tenth game with an in-region win (Pacific?), would that have given them a better chance at #1 seed? Not if Pacific had not won a game, I suppose.

Does a ten game schedule hold weight over a 9 game schedule in the pyramid, I wonder again this year.

I think you nailed it--if those extra games are against teams with poor SOS then it probably hurts---just look what finishing with UPS and PLU did to our SOS in the last 3 weeks.

I suppose the trade-off is giving 100 players a chance to play   ;D

TDT...I'd like to hear your spin on why this year's weak sauce Johnnies are better than last years weak sauce.....Let's see...SJU went one and out against a UWW team that some would say gave the Johns a monkey stomp...the following weak the NWC champ Willamette was the only team to give the Warhawks a legitiimate game until the Stagg....Waffles anybody???

I'll take mine with sauce and plenty of it 8)
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

I really don't think a 9-game schedule is a handicap.  It doesn't appear to be viewed differently in comparison to a 10-game slate.  I think you should have 8 or 9 D-3 games rather than 6 or 7...but even that seems a little less important than I think most of us believed.

It seems to me that the collective out-of-conference games make the biggest difference in SOS.  So adding Pacific doesn't change much of anything.  Maybe they add a winless team to Linfield's SOS...but they also provide a win to each NWC team so it all basically evens out.  Conference games have a winner and loser, so the result is something very near .500 within that group of games (right?).

The far bigger variables are 1) how Linfield's out-of-conference oppenents did, 2) how the rest of the NWC did in their out-of-conference games, and 3) how those NWC oppenents fared in their other games.  Linfield would have been helped by better seasons by HSU and Oxy; better non-conference showings by PLU, UPS, (etc.); and even by better seasons by NWC opponents like Concordia, Gustavus A., La Verne, HSU (again - this time via Whitworth).

Can't recall which board I read it on, but Pat has said he hasn't noticed any difference in treatment between 9-1 and 8-1, so I'd assume the same would hold for 10-0 and 9-0.

RE: Video Coverage of games

It appears that there will be bidding on individual games for TV and Internet Video rights for each game in the first four rounds of the playoffs...and the winning bidder will be determined the Tuesday before each game.

So, the answer right now - we have no idea who would be doing live video coverage of any of this Saturday's games.

Of course, ESPN owns the rights already for the Stagg.

George-

I meant that sju and mt would never travel when they were the actual (or de facto) #1 seed. I know about the '02 game. I was there. The email makes it sound as if there would be a situation in which this season they could go on the road before the semis.
