I heard on the radio this morning the former Linfield Head Coach Jay Locey is also being considered for the PSU Job....

Back in the day, when Linfield was NAIA, the playoffs were all based on bidding to host.  Linfield and PLU must have known how to do a good job of bidding, or they knew they could sell out and make the NAIA a lot of money.  If it comes down to a bidding war this year the only thing Linfield has against it is a smallish stadium.
Not if recent attendance is an indicator  :-\

I read an article a few weeks back that Danny Langsdorf was being considered for a O-Coordinator job with Miami (the NFL ones I presume) and that if he got it they'd probably promote Locey to O-Coordinator at OSU--didn't happen though.

Ha!  PSU might be considering Locey but I doubt that Locey is considering PSU.  Coach Locey is home and I doubt that he wants to uproot his family for Portland State.  My money is on that Coach Locey stays at OSU as long as Riley is there.

Yeah, well there should be a Fred Meyer Store on Interstate 5 near Mount Ashland where that sign reading WELCOME TO OREGON is because that's where it always starts raining on me.  :D

I hope so Bob.  Word is that Cal Lutheran is a hell of a squad with speed everywhere.  Linfield has their work cut out this weekend.  Looking forward to the match up!

I don't want to call it a prediction - but more of what is likely when the scorebaord says "00:00"

CLU 27 - Linfield 21

It will be an interesting match-up between an explosive passing offense by Linfield and a stingy-tough-fast Defense from CLU.

Look for Toilolo to control the tempo of the game by spreading the ball around, and Stewart to eat away chunks on the ground.

Is it Saturday yet?

I cannot find the stat on the CLU website for Toilolo completetions while on his back. Any help K4?

K4,

Don't overlook the Linfield running game...it's pretty damn good.  Linfield has a balanced offense.

I have a stupid question for you. What is the origin on your CATDOME tag at the bottom? I just assumed ya'll had a domed stadium but have discovered you don't. Just curious in case UMHB wins and we have to travel to Linfield.

Read this on the Daily Dose earlier today...just in case some of you may not have seen.  This seems to answer some questions about the subsequent rounds of the playoffs...at least the second.  Pat said he received this in an email from the NCAA:

"If Linfield wins, it will host the winner of Central and Mary Hardin-Baylor. If Cal Lutheran wins, it will travel.

Of course, this doesn't answer Round 3 or Round 4 questions."

Not a stupid question crudbdad, but I'll defer the answer to a more knowledgeable Linfield poster. All Cat no Dome! Catdome is a state of mind!
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Not a stupid question.  "Catdome" has been around for a long time and I really don't know when or who started it.  It means different things to different people/players.

When I first heard the term "Catdome" as a player in 1994 I thought it referred to the fact that teams that do play indoors (domes) have an advantage of playing inside all the time and that Linfield's Maxwell Field was viewed as an advantage because Linfield was traditionally a strong team in the late season mud and wet weather.  The mud and rain was just as much as an edge for Linfield as playing inside is for indoor teams.

However, as I was around the program longer I found that "Catdome" is said by folks to express a state of mind.  Linfield players, coaches, and fans truly believe in how the program approaches and plays the game and the unique bond Linfield people young and old have to the program.  The history and success of the program is the proof that "our" way works for us and the term "Catdome" is just a short hand way of saying all of that with one word.
