Cat fans:
Was there any local tv coverage of the game? Was it being telecast in the area? Back in 2005 I purchased a broadcast dvd from CCTV located in Salem, Oregon of the Linfield vs. Occidental game. If they are available this may be a game that some fans would want to buy.

It's a possibility, you could check the CCTV website, for contact information. I could see how CCTV would be interested, since a number of Linfield players are from the Salem area.
Steel:
I checked on the CCTV home page. The game was not listed as one that was being covered by them. :(
I'll have to settle for watching the archived version from stretch internet in a few days. I'm still trying to figure out what my eyes were seeing yesterday. :o

As much as it pains Johnnie fans not be in on this party, be it McMinnville or Collegeville, the Tommies have shown to be a formidable opponent.

There really haven't been any nail-biters for the Toms and save for a decent comeback against the Johnnies and then a loss in OT, UST has been in control the entire season.

Good on defense, the real advantage for the the Tommies will be with their running game against a Wildcat defense which, shall we say, has been tested on occasion.

Starter #22 Greg Morse is wild with his throws and will stick to short passes off of play action.

There could be some distraction for the Tommies as the offers should be flying in for the services of their head coach, a practical overnight sensation of sorts.

Good grilling on Saturday!

Are the Tommies better than UMHB with the run?  :o

D O.C.

NO.

Far be it from be to encourage the Crusaders to watch those TV clips.

For the rest of their lives they will want to choke anyone who mouths the phrases "Where preperation and opportunity meet" or "That's the way the ball bounces" or "You take what us given you" blah, blah, blah.

Ouch!

Pat Coleman

UST and UMHB are not at all the same style of team, guys. The similarities on offense end at the quality of the offensive line.

So who has the better O line...UST or UMHB?

I haven't seen UMHB play much this year, just a quarter or two on live video. Not entirely comparable experiences, though -- they are not built to do the same thing.

I really have no idea, but they were pretty effective in the MIAC and the first few playoff games. Good linebackers that pursue well.

Linebackers that pursue well can be a valueable asset on any team.
Unless they are fast and 6''5" they can be thrown over and around where they can then begin their pursuit to the end zone.  :)

I've gotta believe that our experienced playoff coaching staff will be the big difference in this upcoming battle with the Tommies.  I don't care how talented the Tommies and coaches are.....they don't have much experience.  Experience Score:
Wildcats - Very Experienced
Tommies - Little Experience

A couple of observations looking at the Tommie website:

1)  Their coaching staff is all very young and new to the Tommie organization.  This may turn out to be a youth versus experience game.
2)  Their offense does not appear to be as  balanced as the Cats and is carried on the shoulders of a running back and a QB with a key receiver.  The Cats on the other hand seem to spread the ball around more statistically.  I suspect the Big D will be thoroughly schooled this week on some of these key playmakers.
3)  The MIAC has been a tough conference at the top for many years but it is really tough to compare the two schedules this year.  It just appears that the Cats have had a tougher overall schedule with the grueling 4 road games against tough competitors and having played Top 25 ranked opponents during the regular season.
LEAVE NO DOUBT

Linfield has traditionally have tough games with the MIAC schools they've faced and this should be no different.  UST is going to be another huge challenge.
