QuoteI heard a rumor that the Cats were practicing at 4AM under the lights to get the benefit of the extra cold...any truth to that rumor

Of course not cris, but I do think the sweat lodge they set up is a nice touch. I wonder who donated outdoor pool? Won't even have to float blocks of ice in it this year.

Looks like Speckman can get his a** handed to him by Linfield for a few more years at Willamette.

I will make a prediction. The Cats are going to Wisconsin and come home with a barrel of cheese. They will win this game and advance to the finals. Don't ask me how I know this, I just do. I am old and wise. There is an old saying. "The bigger they are the harder they fall". Go Cats.

Bobo, those teams didn't have the experience at that level, especially Bethel...although I'm now beginning to think that Wesley has got to be giving MUC a run for their money this year...I would'nt be surprised to see them shock the Raiders.

Mount Union will beat Wesley by at least 4 touchdowns probably more.   KABOOM

From reading the WIAC board, it is obvious that they feel Linfield has no chance Saturday.   "Weak defense.   Can't handle cold weather."  Etc., Etc.

Yet, we have beat a bunch of good teams.   I tend to agree with you, Grouchygramps,  this team can pull it off.    They are mighty impressive and  this team does not have the two weaknesses that the 2005 team had.

Wildcats in a major upset, 34-28.

Yes, and?

So would you and so would we.

George-

Any idea on the question I posed earlier about the ref standing over the ball to delay play after we lined up for the punt and then ran our offensive unit onto the field?

Anyne know when the Cats fly out?  Sounds like the weather's supposed to be nasty Friday, Freezing rain.  The airport may be the toughest opponant this week.

I love that we're the huge underdog in this one.  Last week i was watching the game feeling like we were the better team ... yet was nervous the entire game.  This week all the pressure is on UWW as far as I'm concerned.... most of their fan base expects them to blast us.

I like our chances.

Actually most of the WW fan base expects this to a close game.  Of course what most of the fan base for either side thinks won't mean much come Saturday.  One thing I do know for certain is that no one on the staff or any players expects to do any blasting.  We know what Linfield is capable of.

A few posters, maybe, but many of us who support the Hawks and are familiar with the 05 match up have said nothing of the kind.  We are playing the West Region Champ and anyone worth listening to knows what that means.  But then, I understand why Cat backer's would want to cherry pick the boards.    ;)

If history is any indication, they will fly out thursday morning, probably a chartered flight.

Glad they're getting out of town early. I need to go to the game to get to warmer weather. :P

It's tough to say of course, but I think the level headed Warhawk fan knows it should be a tough game, and Linfield is quite capable of winning. I think the tough road schedule the Wildcats have played will help in this situation. We also know the Cats have a veteran, skilled coaching staff, which has a ton of playoff experience, including their playing careers. Anyone who thinks a program with the winning tradition(four national titles, 30 plus conference titles, and the oldest winning streak in college or pro football) of Linfield will be intimidated by Perkins Stadium is sadly mistaken.
I agree, all the pressure is on WW,  Linfield was not expected to be in this position before the season. If the weather worsens on gameday, that could lead some to think Linfield has no chance whatsoever. In a one game playoff situation, it's dangerous to think your favorite team is entitled to win, and will do so by double digits. Respect your opponent.
