Redlands OC, Jeff Thomas, named Head Football Coach at Puget Sound:

RFB,

As I stated in the post:  "OK so we're going to give this new segment a shot here on ADvantage Catdome. Yeah, this is a clear rip off of Bill Simmons Mailbag segments on ESPN.com but really is the Sports Guy going to care one bit that a DIII blogger is biting his style? Doubtful, so we're going to give this a try and see if it bombs or if this will be a occasional segment for the ADvantage."

I was kidding, next time I will use your sarcasm brackets. Glad to see Coach Thomas get his own program as he is a rising star in the DIII coaching profession. While he will be tough to replace at Redlands I wish him all the luck in getting UPS to the next level.

The Tacoma Tribune
Newly hired Thomas looks to give UPS football program a jolt

---"I took a little bit of time to research Puget Sound, to see if we could win and if it had the right administrative support," Thomas said. "Everyone I talked to said Puget Sound was about to explode on the scene, football-wise, just because of the success they've had athletically."

By "everyone" does he mean the UPS AD and Coach Willenbrock?  Because that's the first time I've heard that line.

Explode?

That might be a little optimistic, but I do wish Thomas well at UPS. He seems ready to take on the challenge, and I'd love to see UPS compete stronger. This fall is going to be great with all D3 games.

Explode--cmon now lets be real !!

Perhaps in his excitement he misspoke and meant implode.

The best thing to come out of this hire is that he has to play the Cats now...can't duck us like they have at Redlands over the past few years.  And look at the bright side...with Maynard on the playoff committee...the NWC might get an additional team into the playoffs if the Loggers can muster up a 5-4 season.  Too bad he wasn't coaching at Whitworth a couple years back.

Is cal lu/linfield the first game of the season next year for both squads? One of the Lu's goals this offseason - an Oline that resembles Linfields from last year... Those were some BIG BOYS

Yeah, it will be first game for Linfield, i don't know about CalLu.  Looking forward to making the trip back down to LA.
