I'm going to post about how much I enjoy this one before I even watch it.

I actually had thoughts of feeling sorry for them near the end of the 3rd quarter.

Thanks R&P!

BTW...ADvantage Catdome just posted up a new cutting room floor clip and I went back in the archives for a treat.

ADvantage Catdome: Cutting Room Floor: 2004 Linfield Vs Rowan
Thanks 11!
Yessssssssss. Loved the footage and keeping the crowd noise in was a stroke of genius. Brought back some good memories.

Wow. Haven't posted in a while, too many social media websites  :-\ I'm glad to see Pacific and GF back. If by any chance Whitman comes back, would that be too many league games?

Boy! They pack 'em in back here! Better look@ that Division III map again. DO.C.'s on the road on an errand that takes him up I-81 and with his head down @ 75 in the rain he drives right by Lycoming, Wilkes, Kings, Hartwick, and finally stops to look up and there's the gates to Union

Love to play 'em all..

Blue,

If that got you ready to go then you need to check this out:

WOW...now that's some serious initiative.  Looks like a couple of his team-mates are giving him the look...you know, the "What's up with this guy" look.
I'm not saying anything about anything with regard to Eric and his enthusiasm...but wow...he's really there!

Can someone tell Eric that the NCAA will be testing after the game.

i think you were introduced to a very good Linfield team ('92). They had a chance to take home the rings, but came upa little short. 1992 vrs 2009, i'll take 1992. and remember that the guy calling the plays for 2009 would be playing defense for the 1992 team. if that not an advantage i don't know what is.

i really liked that '92 team i wish they would have taken it, and maybe started another championship roll --- '92 '94 '96..... that would have been cool.

anyway ... thats just my thoughts...

Some Pacific students are crying about football coming back to campus: Football Too Costly & Students Come First.

Also Pacific will be installing an all black field turf (4/1): Pacific to play on black turf

badgerwarhawk

Red was considered the initial favorite, but the department decided against it at the last minute in favor of black, after it was determined that the sheer shock value of walking onto and playing on black turf will scare the pants off most opposing teams.

"Seriously, who in their right mind is insane enough to play on a black field?!" said an opposing coach on the condition of anonymity. "On a sunny day, that turf will be so hot, players will burst into flames by the second quarter."

Way too funny.  Are you sure this isn't an April Fool's joke?  :D  ;)

Considering it was in the "April Fool's" section of the paper I'm pretty sure it was a spoof article.  ;)  However, The student's crying opinion articles are legit.

My ten cents on the 1992 vs 2009 Linfield teams -

Special Teams - The clear advantage the 1992 team had over the 2009 was in the kick off/return phase.  It seemed to me that the 2009 kick offs rarely were caught in the air much deeper than the 20 yard line and were typically ran back to the 35 if not 40.  As the 1992 team had one of the most dangerous kick returners in the history of Linfield football in Gary McGarvie this could easily be a game turning issue.  Each time he received a kick off it was time to hold your breath as he was capable of taking it to the house.

When the 1992 team would kick off Kunle Thomas got them down either to the goal line or close.  I don't know if they have moved the kick off back since then which could account for 5 yards.  As well, the 2009 returners weren't as dangerous as in 1992.

I'd say punt and punt returns were a wash.  Field goals and PATs were definitely in 2009's favor.

Pretty good sarcastic reply about not knowing athletes weren't students. (Is that a double negative? I forget.)
