Me thinks the other side of the coin is a tad tarnished.

Been wanting to get a good look, and I did, at that last Coppage run.

This list has some surprises to say the least... The Linfield D-line is on the money but that's it for the far west?? they did include one O-lineman from the LU who is a beast of a kid but I don't know if he has even seen the field yet... Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Linfield Faithful,

11 reached out to me and let me know that you guys may be already looking for hotel accomodations in the T.O. area for the weekend of the CLU/Linfield game this fall. I gave some reccomendations to 11 that he can pass along, but also just got an e-mail back from a client of mine, feel free to utilize the discount below. It is just about as close as you can get to campus and seems like a pretty good deal.

"Thanks for thinking of us! We actually can set up a disocunt for CLU, it is 10% off of whatever our best available rate is at the time the reservations are booked. Our regular rate for a Friday or Saturday night is usually around $85 for one King or $95 for two Queens. Reservations made 3-6 weeks in advance usually have the lowest rates, as we offer discounts for "Book Early and Save". Anyone interested in staying with us just needs to let us know they are coming in to go to Cal Lutheran University and we will extend them the discount. They can also book it online and use discount code CALU. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks!

Kings,

That's why I don't pay any attention to these publications and services when it comes to pre-season awards and rankings.  That's not a slight on Nish or Eric because I think they're going to have monster senior seaons for Linfield but these pubs just don't know our Division very well.

I only recognize the D3 poll for pre-season awards and rankings and I really don't put a ton stock into them.  They are fun for the fans to debate but they have ZERO impact on how the season will be played out.

The only poll that really matters is the D3.com top 25 after the Stagg Bowl is played.

PS...thanks for the info on the hotel.....HUGE help for Catdomer's making the trip down.

Well now, that IS a reasonable rate for SoCal on a weekend, to be sure, but let's wait to hear the bulk rate OxyBob has to offer. With any luck Occidental will be playing Lewis and Clark or Pacific in Oregon that weekend and he can leave the key under the mat for us. Wildcat11 can then apply his fraternity principles of who gets what and who has to clean up.

Better yet, he will be in North Carolina, so you can "house sit" for the weekend.

I agree, 11. Just picked up the annual Sporting News CFB Preview issue, they're pretty much the only publication which covers college football beyond D1. They even cover Jucos. In D3, it's WW picked number one, followed by Mount and Linfield. St. Johns is fourth, and MHB sixth. Strangely, no other NWC teams are picked in the top 25, and PLU is mentioned in the teams to watch. It was my understanding Willamette will be strong again in 2010, unless I'm missing something.

You're not.  Willamette is going to be a dangerous team in 2010 and I think will be a top 25 team in D3.com's pre-season poll.  No idea why they picked PLU.

I think that Puget Sound is coming down to Eagle Rock this year, no road trip to the great NW for the boys this year . . . except for the playoffs!!   ;D ;D :D :D ;) ;)

Willamette returns nine of eleven starters from an offense that averaged 38.2 ppg last season, as well as the NWC's co-defensive player of the year.  If our non-conference schedule doesn't murder us, we've got a chance to be really, really good.
