CORVALLIS, Ore. -- An Oregon State University offensive lineman has been dismissed from the team after police say they found him naked and intoxicated in a stranger's home and had to use stun guns to take him into custody.

Corvallis police say they received the call about a naked intruder early Sunday.

Responding officers ordered 19-year-old Tyler Patrick Thomas of Kalispell, Mont., to get on the ground, Lt. Tim Brewer said.

Thomas refused and instead dropped into a three-point stance like a football player and lunged at the officers, Brewer said. At that point, he said, two officers fired their stun guns.

Brewer said Thomas "absolutely was intoxicated" at the time.

Thomas was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass, criminal mischief and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Benton County jail and later released.

A home phone listing for Thomas couldn't be found.

Oregon State coach Mike Riley dismissed Thomas from the team Monday, OSU athletics spokesman Steve Fenk said. Thomas redshirted during the Beavers' 2009 season.

Or, considering he was naked in someone else's house, with cops all around him, at its worst! :P

Island Cat

Just stopping in (it's about time, yeah) to say "howzit" and looking forward to the upcoming season. A big mahalo to WC11 for all the updates and video on the boys training and drills, without which, we would never get to experience. The Cats look ready to rock, so c'mon let's hit somebody!!!

Aloha for now,
Island Cat

Welcome back Island Cat!  Aloha!

B-Press,

Great job in your piece in the 2010 Kickoff and the NWC wrap up, +K.  However, don't think I didn't notice your attempt in doing a Jedi mind trick with overly pumping up Linfield.  I know you have a dislike for the 'Cats so you must have had to down a 6-pack of BPR tallboys when writing that gushing review and then picking Willamette to have 3 losses.  ;)

Predictions are a team effort -- the writer submits them and Keith and I review them. Sometimes the ASC writer and NWC writer, or WIAC and NWC writers won't agree on who will win a non-conference game, so this extra layer is definitely necessary.

So to say Tim picked them to have three losses is not always accurate.

Opening day is just over a week away. Do people on the boards want to do the pick 'em again? If so go to the NWC pick 'em board and make your first predictions.

Naw...pretty typical for guys to have practice jerseys with different number than their game jerseys....no reason for it...most guys just grab whatever top they find.

A nice little subtle change on the 'Cats jerseys this year is Linfield will finally be rocking the NCAA patch.  It looks pretty good.  You can thank the 'Cats top shelf equipment mgr, Mack, for the upgrade.

Regarding practice jerseys:

When my Dad coached, game jersey's usually became practice jersey's. Some game jersey's were in bad shape and couldn't be used. Thus missing numbers were evident.

Another theory has it that some coaches wanted the numbers to be different than game jersey's to throw off any scouts that may be watching a practice. Not that any D3 school would ever watch a an opponent's practice or practice film.

I think this is pretty common.

BTW, been looking around the conference web sites.  UPS looks like a transfer from Sac State is leading the way at QB and they'll be running the spread now.  Whitworth...not too much info but I'm sure they will have doods with lots of hair on their roster.
