Not a NWC guy, but this CCIW guy from Michigan reporting for duty. ;)  I'm really looking forward to Willamette @ UWSP.  That game is on my MIAA Pickems this week - UWSP is heavily favored by the posters, but I'm not so sure.  If I go Willamette, will I be burying myself early or getting a head start?
If you look at the NWC pickem you'll see several picking Willamette---I think they are solid and are worth the risk of picking-

I talked Mrs. FB into going to the UWSP and Hardin Simmons games.  She has ancestors who lived in both Stevens Point and North Texas/South Oklahoma (it's not so far from there to Abilene) so we'll do a little genealogy to keep her happy.  This will be a big test for the Bearcats but practice has been looking great and they'll be ready.

Go Bearcats!

Mr. Y., they managed 8-2 last season and with being free of injuries to key players and getting a few turnovers they have a decent chance of going 9-1 this year.

Welcome back and safe travels, FB!  Will we get eyewitness reports?

Pointers 2010 Purple/Gold Football Scrimmage or is it the Purple/White Scrimmage?  Looks like the Pointers pass a lot, have a good kicker, have some speed on returns, and a big offensive front 5 . . .  The Bearcats will definitely have to bring their "A" game.

Go Bearcats!

What do you mean? I actually think they have a better then decent chance of beating Stevens Point this week? That would make their season 10-0, wouldn't it?   ;)

Stevens Point is a bear of a road trip but I wouldn't be surprised, at all, if Willamette took care of the Pointers this weekend.

GHC,

Same kid....he's a player for sure.

fbgcat

fbgcat here, albeit in Texas.  Might just head north to Abilene to watch Willamette take on HSU in a couple of weeks.  Then, in October, up to Belton to see SOSC take on UMHB.  Gotta get my NWC fix while familiar teams are in TX.

Also going to watch the Beavs next weekend at the "New" Cowboy Stadium.

Seriously one of the biggest hearts in the game belongs to #1.

I've seen him "Making the grass grow"(ref: Kelly Bertrand) on the fieldturf and
then race to the sidelines, toss a buick in the trash, and sprint back
out so as not to miss his chance to play.

Rudy(of Notre Dame)would have been kindred spirit to this kid.

I suddenly understand why UPS got new helmets this year.
