What up football fans!!!!
Looks like we are in for a great season of football. Hope the cats live up to the hype......

welcome to the boxers, by the way they did a bang up job recruiting hawaii. they have some good kids on the roster from the 808 state. i never knew why they had so many guys from hawaii and especially waianae on the team back in the days... but they have a counselor on staff that is from the westside....   we had some battles with the boxers back then when they had the conner boys on their team. man talk about tough, these guys were "animals". anyway getting into bluenote territory!!!

Here's an interesting Linfield plug from an unusual source.  7 Colleges Nationwide worth their tuition.

School # 3 Linfield, with nice football shot

I agree, good plug for Linfield.  I did find the following comment interesting:  "Among the factors that make these colleges great: Growth, innovation, diversity, emphasis on education, few spectator sports and, of course, their price tags."   [my emphasis]  Or, describing the final six on the list : "What they have in common: all have abandoned football, or never played it."  Nice to know that we have in the NWC the Western Oregon of the private school set, or the Notre Dame of the West.

OldCatProf

Another important link between Boise State and Linfield in that Ted Henry (long-time line coach during the Rutschman era) played football at Boise when it was a junior college and transferred to Linfield for his junior and senior seasons.

Sorry for wallowing in ancient history again.  ;D

Go, you Wiley Cats!!!
See ya'all in Thousand Oaks.

The Boise St. game was a good one, them kids just might do it this year. I know they don't have much left on there schedule but they seem to play up for the bigger and better schools. We will see in January how they do.

As for the Wildcats, Can't wait for Saturday. Hit the road Friday evening. Will be ready for a longie about 11am. Can't wait to see everybody there. Parking lot behind bleachers still the place? Count use in.

Go Wildcats

PPJ,

It was great having Simon umpire baseball for us this summer. A great young man to have the kids looking up to. He did a great job.

Just for the heck of it, I would like Simon out of an obvious win when killing the clock.

An obvious win in Las Vegas - enough to spring for a tailgate bunch of pizzas - and home for a nap before heading up for another win in 1000 Oaks - not my favorite drive on a Friday afternoon.

Pat...I'd like to commend you on the new front page feature of the weeks best plays video. I really enjoyed watching all of them and like seeing the different campus settings and fields! Thanks!

@CamCat: Thanks for the karma tip, I've got a long way to go, yeah?

@Red&Purple: Thanks for sharing.

@Light&Darkness: Howzit!

Interesting situation at Pacific with about half the team from HI. I think it's a great opportunity for the boys to attend a good school, let alone play as freshmen in the NWC. I just hope they can stick it out, adjusting to being away has always been a problem for the boys. I know a few of the kids, who played with my son at STL in '07-'08, and went on to other schools, but transferred to Pacific. Coach Yoro, DC/LB coach was also at STL when my son was there. I wish them all the best.

Can't wait for Saturday, let's do this! Hit somebody!
Go BIG D!

Those facts bring into play something not postulated on this board before . Some questioned recruiting implications for NWC schools with the talent pool in OR/WA/ID when Pacific announced reinstatement of football.
If the Barbaras Boxers have a good Hawaii connection THAT will impact football at LINFIELD.
