I think this bye week might be good for the Cats, but for me it sure bits.
I was just getting geared up last week and now I have to  go watch the other cats vs. the Raiders to get my fix?  ;) ;D

To follow along with R & P
Appalachian st. got paid big Bucks to knock off Michigan and another team that used to be DII did the same thing this year.
Pacific U. .....George Fox.......and others have started to bring back Football for money of a different sort.

Colleges have noticed a big decline in male student populations. And especially at Schools where Sports are not high priority on the list. Not only for the number of Football players but, the number of male students who just want a Football game to go to, talk, brag and post about on DIIIfootball.com.  ;D

More male students means more Dollars.

GO WILDCATS!
ONE GAME AT A TIME!

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Bearcats-v-Raiders outta be a good one!
There's already been a few comments out there about what this game means to both teams.  SOU at 2-0, best start in awhile.  WU at 1-1, conference odds at stake..This game means alot to both teams and the BearCats at thier home opener should be tough customers.  I bet they get it done!
(I suppose going with an "L" on my hat would be chum in the water at the shark tank.) :P

Thanks to everyone for your input to my last post. Like I said, the payment situation was completely new to me. I knew schools received television revenue, but monies to play different opponents really came as a surprise to me. Thanks for the education. :)

GO CATS!
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

R&P,

The first time I'd heard of it at this level was when St. John's paid some weak school (Crown maybe?) to play them a few years back.

Did Linfield get any money for playing at Oxy last year...or at least some help with the travel costs?  That was a one-sided contract (i.e. no return game @ Linfield), right?

D O.C.

I believe we felt after their last two visits up north, we they should know what it feels like to get beat at home.

Perhaps RFB would like to chime in on the Haskell Indian Nations University?

Lewis & Clark covered all of Crown's travel expenses when the Storm came out for L&C's homecoming last year.

As long as it's not October 2, don't worry about wearing that "L," MacQuiz. ;)

It's been my experience that the Bearcat faithful are friendly to D3 fans (as long as they're not rooting AGAINST the Bearcats)! Wear the hat with an "L" but cheer for the Cardinal & Gold!  :)

My daughter is an SOU student this year...I'll probobly sit next to her with my "L"
hat; she's a tough customer so there's my protection. ;D
This really should be a great football game and I'm looking forward to it in a big way!

When Linfield has a bye, it's a tough day for us CatDome fans in Arizona. No d3 colleges here...not even D2...and given the way Arizona State has been playing in recent years, there's barely any D1 here either.  >:(
