You're the one that stirred this up to begin with. 

I've already stated my stance and that's how I'll feel.  Enough of this debate...we have the biggest game of the season in the NWC and all we've done is talk about this for two straight days.  We should pick this up at another date and lets talk about why Willamette blows and Linfield is the superior program (8-2 the past 10 years vs WU).  Go 'Cats!

Last Year...3-1 in NCAA playoffs with National Semi-Final appearance.

Oh please...save it.  What is happening at LV is great.  The kicker there has gone through the workouts, the pain and suffering with her teammates....she's a college football player.

What happened at Willamette was a pub stunt/grab.  Hawkins had a superior team (in fact it was the best team in Willamette history but nobody ever remembers that) and he knew it.  It wasn't like WU was lacking in the position because another player handled the kicking duties earlier in the contest and she didn't kick till the 2nd half.  She kicked in one more game after that and left the team.   There was a gaggle of press on hand and it generated a ton of publicity for Willamette and Hawkins.  

The difference is the kicker at LV just wants to go about her business as a college football player while Willamette made Liz kicking for a game or two into a media circus.    "equal rights" my rear end...Hawkins couldn't give two craps about equal rights...he was there to win games and get his DI job.  Mission Accomplished.

Sounding a little bitter here, WC11.   Isn't a coach's job to "win games"??  And, if in doing so, they get a better offer -- isn't that how it works?  Didn't the Linfield coach go to umm, let's see, Oregon State??

Oh, and you can have last year's record -- you earned it!  We're thinking about THIS year!! Go Bearcats, cream the MildKitties!

Yes, Coach Locey left Linfield after 20 years of service as a Wildcat.  Hawk did a hell of a job for Willamette in the 4 years he was there.

So .... leaving for D1 is OK if you've been there for years???  Seems to me like you have to take an opportunity when it happens.   Sometimes it takes longer for people to get noticed.

I'm with you about the discussion, though.  This board has been very BORING this week considering the game we're about to see on Saturday.    The Linfield posters were being kind of quiet.   Now they're slinging the insults we're used to.  Who knew it took a discussion about a female kicker?
