Cmon now, injured players--holding !!  Holding in one form or another can be called on every play and injuries, both teams have those every week.   Hey, your Loggers played hard all game, some success on the short pass game etc, but other than that you are right you have work to do.

Hey Dee-- did you ever get held ??

idalogger

You're right, it happens in every game, and all of you probably got held at one time or another in your college career. It just happened to be obvious, and right in front of me, and resulted in a td. I'm sure one of you guys will have the play on tape. I'll check it on hudl.

Looked to me like the Wildcats played a classy game, and could have made it a lot worse if they had wanted. That is typical, I think, of Linfield's players and coaches. Good luck othe rest of the way.

And the Mike was averaging 10 tackles a game. And yes, those things do affect your defense. Not saying that it would have made a blowout close. Just that those things have an effect.

Looks like about 70 Linfield guys got to play yesterday---I saw a lot of Freshman names making tackles in the 4th Q---good experience for the young cats and for the future of the program. :)

Best of luck to you as well--get ready to swat the fly !!

I hope the Loggers can get it together for the trip to Salem. They do play hard, you're right. Have no team can win with 6 interceptions; perhaps if we clean some of that up, we'll be able to compete.

With the failed kicks today, whether blocked or missed, it made me wonder what has happened to Scott Birkhofer. I was at the game when he put up 18 points, including 5 field goals, at Pacific Lutheran in 2006. Does anyone have any info on him?

Here's some info for ya:  http://blog.kickingsystem.com/2010/01/29/one-on-one-kicking-lesson-with-free-agent-kicker-scott-birkhofer/

Thanks MonroviaCat.
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

ADvantage Catdome:  Linfield and Aaron Boehme hurdles over Puget Sound

The post is video of Boehme hurdling over a UPS DB at the 3 yard line for a TD.  Incredible run.

I agree,  and I don't think -ida- was blaming anything, we're just watching a team and hoping that we're at the beginnings of a road to being a more consistent team that challenges the top teams in the NWC.

Thanks, 54. Actually my son is a junior and a 2 year starter. I am tired of us competing with the weaker teams and getting blown out by the Willamettes and Linfields of the world, not to speak of Oxy and Whitewater. Linfield believes they can win, plays harder, executes, and wins.

As for that play, I watched 11's video then watched the hudl version. Great play by Boehme where we left the whole left side of the field open, and he took advantage of it. Clear hold by the right tackle, who has his arms outside of the chest and a great grip on the jersey - does it several times so the ref can see it, I guess. But, I really don't care. We won't get those calls until we are competitive.

I am headed to Salem for the next game against the Bearcats, who were clearly pissed off up in Forest Grove. BCP, let me know if you'll be there. It would be nice to see you again.

I can appreciate your frustration idalogger. I teach and my school is in blue. This wasn't holding either. This is pretty much the view the ref had.

Good luck the rest of the season.

Cawcdad-

Now that is funny. It wasn't that bad, of course!

Appreciate the commiseration. Hope the blue team is having a good season.
