"....what am I waiting for?"

I often ask myself that question:)
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Great job today Cats!  Especially to the D!
Cats are the only top 25 team this week to pitch a shutout.

FightBearcats

The Bearcats did a good job today, pretty much controlling the ball throughout.  Very workmanlike, stuck to basics.  They wore the Pirates down in the 2nd half.  Time of possession was Bearcats 41:22, Pirates 18:38.  In the 3rd quarter the Pirates only had the ball for 2:50.

Without Adam Anderson, the Pirates didn't have an effective running game.  They had to rely on the pass but couldn't mix it up to keep the Bearcats guessing.  The Pirates played a gutsy game and their quarterback has a good arm.  His receivers really let him down with dropped passes that had been well thrown.

My first time at the Pine Bowl and I was impressed.  Nice layout, good crowd.

Good win today Wildcats!

OK, I will stick my neck out.    Western Region playoffs projection:

UW-Whitewater (1) hosts Coe (7)
Linfield (4) hosts Redlands (8)

St. Thomas (2) hosts Cal Lutheran (6)
Wartburg (3) hosts Bethel (5)

This assumes all eight teams win out to the playoffs.   It is early and there are many possibilities,
even among these eight.

GO CATS! GO!
GO CATS! GO!

In today's game with Menlo I saw defensive hurdling called for the first time in my life.  Anyone else see this?

Which team was it called on?   Why is it wrong to do?

Proud Papa Joe

I got the inside scoop on the defensive hurdling. Simon is the guy he hurdled and the ref said he used simon's body to hurdle him. buy putting his hand on simon and gaining leverage. You can hurdle but it must be all you nothing else. Simon was cut blocking him in protection.

As for the playoff's, lets just keep winning and winning big.

You may have the top 8 West teams listed, although I can't see how Redlands would rank ahead of PLU, but I think you are missing at least one automatic bid, MWC, and maybe two, UMAC (but I don't think they get one yet).

Congrats to the coaches and players on the win.

That hurdling was a weird deal. I've heard of it, but this was the first time I've ever seen it called. The officials sure discussed it for a long time before they decided what to do.

What a blowout. Boehme and Lamson racked up the yardage again. And Avritt had some fancy footwork when he scored his second TD on the near sideline. Those guys obviously got some good genes from their dads.

The defense was huge, with Hedin putting in his usual performance. I love that kid.

It was a good day for football in Oregon.

Hope Anderson is back next week. It will be more fun to beat the Rats when they are at full strength. Are you coming back up, PPJ? Will you be here, GHC?

Like Dens said, stay home this Halloween and rest, 'Cats!
Two words:  THE STREAK

And  + K for you blue!!!

Good win today........Just my thought......Instead of 90+  : :o   yards for Boehme on the ground, Ill take 10 or 15, that's what the RB's are for ......Right? Anyway, fun game to watch.
Good to see and talk with you today ppj. The kid keeps racking up the yardage, nice day for Simon. Congrats.!

The Menlo Coach was on" fire".....at  least his mouth should have been!! My My My Coach, did they forget to tell you  it was kids day at the Catdome?

Are the Oak's now NAIA? Again?

 Go Wildcats!
 One Game at a Time!!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

.... about the same chance as WC14 enrolling in PLU as a kicker but still......they have a chance.
;D :D ;D

I'm thinking that, historically, her chances of being a kicker are better at Willamette . . . ;D
But the chance of 11 letting his kid go to Willamette are much worse!  ;D

I still think WC14 may end up going to Willamette after all.

She will probably go to Redlands as a cheerleader, but will be friends with a really good quarterback and pitcher. :P

+10,000!

Thank you for all the kind words everyone.  I just wanted to celebrate this today but going forward I'll try to keep my posts focused on the 'Cats, taking cheap shots at Redlands and Willamette, and plugs for Catdomealumni.com.  :)

If we're lucky enough to have a child one day that wants to go to college then we'll support them in ANY place they want to apply (except to Willamette, PLU, or WOU).  :D

Congrats WC11.  ??? She'll apply to and will be accepted at Linfield with a full ride -- and spend at least a few semesters as a Wildcat (thereby pleasing and honoring her parents) before transferring to Willamette because she'll want to go to law school and be a judge on the Oregon Supreme Court after making a few million as a personal injury lawyer.  ;)

I would also add that if WC14 is like her father, she would probably want to play football, and Willamette, not Linfield, would give her a chance to do it. :)

Congrats Cats on another great win!  And congrats to all you PLU fans, it looks like the Lutes are back!

aside from the missing pool A (autobid) teams--I think if Redlands and Cal Lu both got spots they'd meet each other in round 1---to save the money
Go Cats!
