Very quiet day on the board.  Did 14 show up and steal all the attention?

Not yet!  She's and Mrs 11 are in great shape just in a holding pattern.

BTW, from listening to Tully's WU/Rat short post game interview on a local Spokane TV station he said "We hope to have Anderson back this week".  That's awesome because I love Linfield getting a shot to shut him down once again!

coco

Damn straight. It's more fun to beat them when they are full strength.

FarAway, hav yu secritly bin hangin uot wih AB? I sea his infulance on yu.
Two words:  THE STREAK

D O.C.

It's true, I, too, miss the Whit posters.

At least, they could come on and tell us a point spread they don't think we can beat.

Our first 2-7 season I know coco and I will be on here talking crimson and purple.

All Willamette home games are video webcast - for free :o - at http://www.willamette.edu/athletics/bsn/webcast/.  Just click on the "Watch Live" link.

I'm really excited to see Keith Welch in person.

thanks.  Free is good!  No injuries for either team and I hope it is a one point game!  As long as #2 and 3 dont break big runs we have a chance to hang in there and be competitive.

BCP, you should stop the Bearcat Club today and say hello - it might by final appearance in that venue.

I'm looking forward to seeing Welch in person, too. Should be a high-scoring game - I think us fans are in for a treat.

Anybody else see this high lite of the kicker getting pummeled on kick off.  I think it's my favorite high lite so far.  I tried it once, but failed miserably.  Tell Ad to put it into the playbook for returns!
Catdome!

To be honest, that was a dumb play, and kinda cheap. By wasting his time knocking out the kicker he was of no use to the rest of the play and there was a man going unblocked to the return man.

It was a great hit...but it was against the kicker  ::) when he was pretty defenseless in his follow-through.

Good luck this afternoon and stay healthy...

yea, i suppose it can be viewed as cheap, although i would disagree.  It was a straight up hit.  Unexpected, yes.  Might it effect how the kicker kicks the next time, yes.  Is it effective and worth it/  Probably not, but definitely hillarious.  The time i tried it, I was on the edge going for one of the gunners but he saw me at the last second and avoided me and i looked like the idiot.

Piobark

Pretty stupid play in my opinion... hit someone who is likely to be making a tackle... Hitting the kicker like that just wastes a blocker.

What is up with running a play with a 6 TD lead and 33 seconds on the clock?  Is he just a jerk with everybody or does he have a thing for LC? I remember what I think was a fake FG play last year too in a similar circumstance.  wth

piodad - on the last play, Speck was trying to get a carry for a senior who didn't have a single carry in his Willamette career.  Nothing malicious about it - it was a run up the middle.  The "fake" FG last year was a botched play.  Speckman has nothing but respect for the way L&C has built their program the last few years.

Now there WAS a chuckle up in the press box when Harrison Keller and Keith Welch used the sheds behind the L&C sideline as their own personal outhouse ... :o

The Wheel is safe for another year.

Piodad, just be thankful he didn't have a female kicker on the bench who hadn't gotten a kick yet all season....  ;D ;D ;D
ok ok, just kidding BCP.
Congrats to the kitties.  L&C played a pretty tough first half.  As did Whitworth.

FightBearcats

A good game, if you're a Bearcat.  WU finally remembered they have an offense and a defense and took control in the second half.

The Pioneers have game and they brought it today.  They don't have the depth to hang with a Willamette yet but they're going to be a force in the Northwest Conference next year or the year after.  The quarterback, Welch, is very, very good – fast, strong, patient, and accurate.  I was impressed.  And a little nervous at the end of the first half.

As the Pios get stronger it can only be good for the league.  Just please, please don't beat Willamette.   :)

I was really glad to see Ryan Whitcomb get to run the offense for some significant minutes.  He was sensational in replacement for the starting QB who went out for the season a couple of years ago - I loved his mobility - then had his own season ending injuries.  By the time he came back, a couple of good, younger quarterbacks were making their own noise and he never started again.  He remained a strong teacher and motivator and, I think, made a real impact on the program.

Malley didn't play.  BCP, what's his status?

D3 football – a thrill a minute.
