Any thoughts on what results this coming week would help or hurt the Lutes chances of getting in?
(minus K for the first one that says Willamette beating PLU hurts the Lutes) :)
I think Linfield and CLU winning helps.
Not sure on Redlands but I'd think a loss can't hurt PLU.
Coe losing, however unlikely, would be a plus.
Bethel shouldn't matter since they slaughtered the only common opponent.

That is only within our region and as D-train pointed out, Pool C, is a national competition for open spots.
A win for PLU and everybody they played helps.  A loss for  Redlands, Bethel, Coe and all other 1 loss Pool C candidates.
Go Cats!

speedy,

There is a pretty good discussion of Pool C stuff in the 'general football' area, and that'll give you a sense of teams to cheer against:

One thing that could help is if Willamette climbs to the 10th spot in the Regional Rankings this week.  If that happens and PLU beats them, PLU would have a 2-1 record against regionally ranked opponents...including two that are playoff bound.  Still, the group of one-loss Pool C contenders is very deep and strong.  We need a solid win and some help to get in.

I had a real nightmare last night.  The Linfield campus was literally across the street from Willamette.  Bright and sunny on the Linfield side and dark imposing clouds like the mountain of doom above Willamette.  Being the curious fellow that I am, I decided to jog the Willamette campus clad in my purple and red shorts.  Somewhere along the line a Willamette prof gave me bum directions to the library and somehow I lost my Nike running shoes after running into a couple of Willamette students who looked like they had just finished a class on "Getting Criminals Off 101"....Next I found myself in one of those 100-1 student to prof ratio classes they have at Willamettte and I was trying to figure out how to get out of there.  In the meantime the same two desperados were eyeing my cool red and purple running shorts.   I finally, found the door and the two rubes followed me out. I finally faced those two and said, "Look you sick puppies, I am 58 years old and no Bearcats are going to mess with me."  They actully got the message and backed off, as up runs about 20 Wildcats dressed in purple and red track uniforms.  On the front of their tank tops was huge white initials "AG"....I'm totally mystified about what that meant.  So I head back to the Linfield campus still wondering where my Nike's went.  Then suddenly I see that somebody had fired bombed my car.  Is there an interpretation to this dream?   I certainly classify it as a nightmare and I testify that this dream is 95% true:)

criswyly:
To dream of sunshine, indicates that you are experiencing some sort of emotional or situational breakthrough. The dream is offering you reassurance that you are headed on the right track.

To see violence in your dream, indicates unexpressed anger or rage. You need more discipline in your life. If you enjoy the violence, then it points to your aggressive or sadomasochistic tendencies.

To dream of a confrontation, represents a conflict or a fear that you are facing in your waking life. The dream provides a "safe" venue for you to confront your enemy or attacker, who you are afraid of standing up to in your waking life. You need to use your dream to overcome your fears. Next time you have this dream, tell your enemy or attacker that you are not afraid of them!

Disclamier:
Any interpretation is wholly based on the non-scientific method and should not be taken as true. It could have been that you ate a bad hot dog at the game.  ;)

I do not understand all the guessing about who gets in the playoffs until someone gets in.  I wouldn't know about that stuff.  I wouldn't know what it's like to be picked and then get your grass kicked in the first round.

criswyly...to have dreamed about a campus means that you did not finish all your chapels and must return to the LINFIELD campus before you are 60 to fulfill your obligation.

To have dreamt of a ratio means you have guilt about cutting Elmer Fricke's Computer and Statistics class you mistakenly scheduled for 2 PM on Fridays. Combine that with the guilt you feel from "borrowing" a dorm mate's six inch stack of FORTRAN cards for your midterm explains the "across the street."

This web site being an extension of Pat's family, I really cannot address sick puppies, suffice you need some serious help.

Don't forget that the MWC is in the West too, so you can add St. Norbert to that list of conference champions.

You are right.   My brain went dead.   That is six conference champs plus two more.   That means it will come down to Bethel, Coe, Redlands and maybe PLU for two spots.

Coe is ranked higher than Redlands, PLU and Bethel.   Not sure they should be.

Yes,  the NCAA might move W-WW out of the west, but this year maybe not, since the west doesn't have the slug of unbeaten teams like in recent years.

I, too, hope PLU can make it in, but they must beat Willamette first, which is no easy assignment.

Reflecting on the Williiiiamette experience including the excuse making posters here, I wish the players had taken a dump instead of peeing.  Wiliiiiiamette has the reputation they deserve.

George, it might be the six auto-bids plus one, two, three, or four teams...depending on the rest of the nation's Pool C bids.

Assuming Linfield and Cal Lu win this week, are we looking at the Wildcats hosting the Kingsman in the first round of the playoffs?

Hard to say....but if those two end up playing each other in the first round CLU has valid rationale for getting the "home" game since they won the head to head....personally think first round rematches are lame but we take what we're given and win, win, win!

. . . . Has the WU contingent ever noticed the port-a-potties we provide the visiting team on their side? . . . .

And you, sir, have the nerve to rip on people about "class"?  Get OVER it.  Your team lost.  You have a really good QB & if he ever has decent receivers to pass to, you will win more games.   Oh and the 1st half made me nervous, but then the WU defense showed up after half-time.  Nuff said.   On to the next one.  Go Bearcats -- beat the Lutes!

I was having a nightmare during the 1st half of the game on Saturday ---- it was a repeat of the Linfield game!!  Fortunately, the team woke up, did their job & I didn't lose any sleep.  ;D

Any new baby Wildcat sightings?

Love to see the 'Cats with an AQ. Way to go Linfield!

Would love to see you guys come to Iowa to play -- if you make the trip, I'll be there in Linfield gear. :)
