I just wanted to thank the Linfield dude on the committee that admitted the selection process was mainly a numbers decision and not a common sense decision *thumbs up*

Very much of a THUMBS UP for that comment. Here's my final four:

Mount Union
Linfield
UMHB
UW-W

The committee can shake things up on a conference call.  But the cream will rise to the top on the field.  ;)

I would trade in the two "good losses" for one loss, even if it is and was a humiliating, big, "bad ass loss."

River,

Do you think Speck would trade three "good losses"?   ;D

Great job by the 'Cats today!  Took care of business out of the gates and it was awesome to see Linfield end the regular season in style.  Last two seasons (up to this point): 20-2, Two NWC titles, Two NCAA playoff Births, and 3-1 in the playoffs including a final four.  Incredible but let's add 5 more wins on that playoff total!  Go 'Cats!

Inclusiveness is a good thing, unless we want to make this a BCS-style party where only the elite conferences can get access. This is what Division III is all about.

The alternative setup, which was the 16-team, no automatic bid, politics-fest, was no good. The Division III philosophy promoting championship access forced the NCAA to loosen the purse strings and allow for this five-week tournament.

Methinks Linfield would be perfectly happy to take a playoff bid at, for example, 6-3 if it won the conference title.

Not only would Speck trade one bad ass loss for three good losses, but so would Smith if the conference title (and auto bid) were on the line.

By the way, congrats Wildcats on the conference title and playoff game against CLU.

river,
Thanx! I know that was tough to say.

I'll take the  Cats by +1....Everybody, I think is over confident and feeling this game will be a push over.  I remember feeling the same way after the first half 3 months ago.  Cal Lu is no pushover and I think the Cats are in for a good old fashioned Catfight.  If we win on our homefield it will be great but let's not count our chickens before they're hatched.  This will be a brutal game just like the rest of the West bracket.  The Cats can consider themselves lucky if they beat Cat Lutheran and are still standing to play another game.

GO Cats---one game at a time.

If the Cats win the turnover battle....the Solutes are toast....BTW, Cal Lute's big gun running back is gone.  Not a good sign.

Catville Commissioner Elect

Good Evening PPG.

Hope everything is great with you, Mrs PPG, and family down CA way.  I hear you are coming up this way this weekend to see little PPG run over, around, and through the Cal Lu defense.  You and Mrs PPG should be very proud.

When you getting into Catville.  If you and Mrs PPG are not doing anything Friday evening, The Catville Mayor and Mrs Catville Mayor would like to meet you for dinner if you are available.  If you are we can  have some good food and then go down to the 'D' and mix it up with other Cat fans.

I would also invite Wildcat 64 but he just complains about his taxes and asks for special out of state favorites.  Being the good politician I am I can't be bought, or at least he does not have enough to buy me.  I would have to raise his taxes again.  Of course I am always glad to talk to an absentee citizen especially a nice one like 64

you can always email me at my public email mayor@ci.mcminnville.or.us and I will reply with my home phone and email so we can see what we can do.  If you can't make it see you at the tailgate in the moring.

The Solute running back is plenty good enough.

Pressure on the Qb and limit turnovers.

+1 is good enough for me.

Congratulations to ALL the players who made the 1st, 2nd, and Honorable Mention NWC teams.

All NWC team is here:  http://www.nwcsports.com/sports/fball/2010-11/news/allnwc and once again, if you didn't get a spot on this team, you probably did not play football in the NWC.....3 first team QBs????  C'mon....
And only one is the offensive POY. ::)

Seriously??  Looking at the stats game by game I'm surprised you are even saying that...you just have to be on the winning team with an all star cast.  Congratulations Linfield for a great season.

Mr. Mayor,
Nice to see you out there taking time off from your Mayoral duties to support the Cats.  I'm really pleased with your leadership because my taxes only went up $32 this year.  However, due to the increase I won't be able to afford the trip to Mac this weekend to take you up on your offer to buy dinner.  We'll see how the Cats do in their playoff run and maybe if they do well we can get together and 'flip' for who buys before the season comes to a close.  In the meantime on Saturday, I'll be perched in front of my big screen TV hooked up to my lap top cheering for the Cats.
