WHAT ABOUT WHAT THE STATS SAY?????  ARE WE LOOKING AT THE SAME ONES???

Not on the same list?  Honorable Mention?  Really??? What stats are you looking at???

WildcatMomma

I mis-spoke earlier with regard to concussions, etc. I did not mean for what I said to be misinterpreted as a poke at Welch. Concussions are extremely serious and I apologize for coming across any other way.  :-[

Point taken Dee.  I'm done with this discussion.  Onto CTU/Linfield Part III.

I'm not going to get anymore into the Welch Stats and all that crap.  But I will quickly standup and defend the concussion issue.  There is absolutely nothing that anyone should question in those regards.  A concussion is a very serious issue and should be addressed as so.  Good OL or not players from all teams end up with concussions.  Whether it was Welchs, his coaches, or his trainers decision not to play shouldn't be questioned either.
Thanks for the support on the concussion issue.  My question is...shouldn't Boheme be better at this stage of the game???  Welch should be proud of his accomplishments without an all star cast.  I wonder what it would look like if the roles were reversed.   As far as him transferring..then people would say he was looking for an all star cast to make him look better than he is...right??

I'd pick Linfield even if the game were in California...but the homefield advantage is a huge break.  Raw deal for the Kingsmen on that one.

Hi Momma---I sat next to you at the LaVerne game.  Nice to see you on the board!

I think the Welch thing has been beaten to death.  As a Cat fan--we have much more important things to think about.  Enough said.
Go Cats!

OK who drew the short straw on our annual pull the fire alarm at 3am drill on that transfer bunch ??

Coco are you out there ?? Or did Dens get it.  I know both of you are working out for this annual honor.  40 times please !!

Can I wear my CPAP?

I'll have to leave this to DenS, just like when we were in school. I was always in church or studying late at night and had no time for such silliness, being the serious student that I was.

Congrats to all who received the post-season honors.
Good job for Wiersma when he missed two (I think) games. He might have made first team had he been able to play in all of them.
I was a little disappointed that Buddy Saxon wasn't on there, but he will be next year.

Cal Lu might want to be checking into heaters. Gonna be a chilly one on Saturday.

I agree.  And yes you do.  Hope you do well and the officiating is fair for all.

I'm going to start working on the ADvantage's game preview shortly but we have to have grade A efforts on both our offensive and defensive lines in order to move on this Saturday.  I think our tackling is much improved during the course of the season and we have developed some great depth but we have to keep CLU off of Boehme in the passing game and try to limit their rushing attack.  I think those points are vital.

Just curious and not trying to be funny...How do the DI and DII teams pass up so many of these great players such as the ones on Linfield?  Boheme seems to have the size and ability.. Over the last 30 years of watching so much high school football I've seen a lot less talented guys go to DI and DII schools on football scholarsips.

I think this is very case-by-case.  I was never more than a D3/NAIA guy, but I played with a few guys that had the talent to be somewhere 'bigger'.  Some guys are just late bloomers.  Some are undersized.  Some value the educational, philosophical, or religious differences of the 'smaller' level.  Some want to play earlier in their college careers.  Some are related to professors, coaches, or former/current players.  Some play in high school for a coach who is a NWC alum.  Some try the larger stage, and for whatever reason it just doesn't suit them.  I don't know any of the particulars on Boehme.

A sample of the more talented guys I played with would include (just for example): the coach's grandson, a d-lineman who was undersized (even for us) but started 4 years, the son of a PLU professor, a transfer from UW who had a high school friend on the team, two sons of a Lutheran pastor, and several others who seemed pretty average when they first arrived on campus.

ok, now that everybody has made up nice nice, i'll add a comment to this.  The best d3ers will always be able to play up at least one division, as will the d2ers and then the elite of d1 move on to play post college.  The d1 schools always try to take the cream of the crop but not everyone's statistics in high school reflect just how good they will be in College but as a betting man you should only take the most elite high school players to D1 and not take the risk on the lower guys.  And that's what makes d3 and the lower levels so much fun to watch and participate in.  Getting to play with guys who are above their own level is so awesome and what every player strives to be!
And something should probably also be mentioned about the coaching and how incredible the Linfield staff is about creating incredible players as well!  I've never seen a better more dedicated coaching staff.

Any inside info 11 if the campus is doing anything to pump up the game this week and get the student following to attend the game in larger numbers?

Go Cats!!!!
