CAT BAT 22

Anyone else think that call against Drew Fisher was bogus?  I know it's got to be hard to tell for sure as an official when it's happening full speed.  It looked like a good clean hit.  "How do you meet a crossing pattern?"

Heads Up.

It's about 38 here too.

That's a West Coast temp.  38 in MN is colder.

A tradition unrivaled...

Cat Bat 22,
Wildcat 11 has the shot on that hit.  He told me he was going to run a loop on it, probably on his site.  The hit was a monster and legit !!

D O.C.

I figured he would. It appeared to be the same kind of hit that was called September 11 at a crucial point giving the Solutes a 1st.
Anyone answer where the officiating crew was from? Did a fair job it appeared.

cludad, I watched your son a good deal when he was in camera and I thought he did what he could. He seemed to hold his block - sometimes getting help - for a 4 count but anything longer than that and Hedin was loose.

This St. Thomas game is the equivalent of WW last year. A complete team that has won a lot of games to get here. Big Ben has a score to settle too. I'm shakin' in my sandals.

There were at least 5-10 pegs. I want all of them to loop....awesome job by 'cat D!

I don't know who will prevail on offense next week but I clearly like our chances on defense and defense wins championships.  This defensive team looks to be equally as good as the last national championship team and that makes me think the Tommies may have a tough time on offense next Saturday.

The Tommies will want revenge from their trip to the Catdome but the Cats will want to prove that they were denied of a national championship last year due to a couple miscues in the 4th quarter in the semifinals last year.  It should be one very close and hard fought game......the Hedin led defense will be tough to beat.
LEAVE NO DOUBT

GREAT day at the Catdome!! The OLINE protected and the DLINE stuffed the run!!!  The magic formula!!

Off to St. Paul!!

GO CATS!!!

wildcat11

Just a great day at the 'Catdome.  Don't blame the secondary giving up some yards today as the 'Cats really committed to stuffing the run and when Skore went down we had to do some patch work at corner with Hanna once again coming in from a Safety roll into a corner slot.  In the end, the secondary made enough plays when they needed to.

Eric Rogers is just a stand out WR at the DIII level.  Hell of a player but thankfully he couldn't block or run the ball as the 'Cats defensive line just brutalized the CLU run game.  Outstanding job by Nish, Steel, Sparky, and Ray.  BTW, if Eric Hedin isn't a first team all-american I may have to leave flaming bags of poo on Pat's doorstep for the next year.

Offense, The offensive line was just fantastic.  CLU put major heat on AB the first time around and today...nothing, nada, zip.  Just a great effort with great efforts by Lamson, Boehme, and the WR crew.

...and yes I nailed Fisher's hit and that will be on the blog/board tomorrow.  Loved the hit but in today's game it's going to get flagged just about every time.....

Why? Do you think 35 TFL and 21 sacks is some sort of statistical accomplishment  ;)

I was very impressed with Linfield yesterday. Watched online.

Great size on both lines. Very good speed. But I think what may really set them apart from the average DIII playoff team is their height. This is one area where you often see a major difference down through the divisions. But Linfield looked to have a significant height advantage, across the board, over CalLu. Since I'm assuming CalLu wasn't a team of midgets, this was telling. But then again, I see you've got at least one Dutchman (Wiersma) on your squad, so not only are you tall, you must also be intelligent and good looking  ;D

Take care of a few untimely penalties, and it's off to the races!!!!
Would somebody PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE tell the camera crew at the Catdome to pan out a little further so we can see the whole field of play!

Go Cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just scanned the article on Linfield's home website about the football game. Sounds like the Wildcats played great (which, I mean, I could have gotten from all of you anyway ;) ) but it seems that whoever wrote the article forgot to leave out the score.

I'm not going to go into the commentary on the proficiency of the respective schools WU and Linfield, one because I'm well aware that you all have a better journalism program than we do, and two because I know in the midst of the playoffs, none of you care at all.  ;). If any of you have a connection or even just an interest, maybe let them know they left the final score out of a game capsule.

I'm excited to see a Drew Fisher highlight reel, my question about where he's been (for an All-American) all-season long has gone long unanswered.

Pat Coleman,

You used to show the ranking of conferences in the playoffs for several years, up-to-date.    I can not find it anymore.

Did you abandon it or am I just blind?

After this year's NCAA selections and yesterday's results, this data is more important than ever.   PLU and Redlands were robbed this year.    All conferences are NOT equal.

GO WILDCATS! GO!

Either this got fixed in the last 15 minutes or you are just blind :)  I see it in the first paragraph as well as on the little summary on the front pages of Football and Athletics....

While I agree that the system is not perfect and that teams like PLU/Redlands would beat several playoff teams---I will again diagree with your statement that they were robbed.  That, to me, implies that they earned a spot in the existing system but got left out anyway.  They had their shot to win their conference and a Pool A spots and neither did it.  Once that happens, they are left with Pool C and neither of them earned a pool C spot based on the system in place.  I know your point is that the system should change and I agree with you on that.  But neither of these teams was robbed of a spot this year---IMHO.  And who cares at this point--it's all about Cats vs. Tommies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Looks to be a good one.  No turnovers and no more stupid penalties.
Go Cats!
