Props to Drew Fisher, Linfield safety, who was named to the 2011 D3football.com preseason All America First Team, and to Shawn Evans, Lewis and Clark TE, who was named to the Second Team.   ;D

Isn't Linfield next door to the Evergreen Museum?

Rare aircraft parts go up in smoke as Evergreen storage barn in McMinnville burns

Very close by. We used to pass the museum on our way to Linfield College. We visited there a couple of times. The Spruce Goose was impressive. My brother was a door gunner on a slick during Vietnam had he loved looking at the helicopters the time we took him there after a game.

What is this, a country bumpkin fire department?

Inspection : there is magnesium on the property

Result : Code 000000 says you MUST have retardant to fight a magnesium-fueled blaze.

Football season begins.  Just finished my first week as assistant coach for my sons' 3rd/4th grade team.  Today was his first day of full contact against other teams, jamboree style.  First full game next week.  With games every Saturday I won't be around much on the board during live games but I'll be catching up late in the day.  Gotta help keep some semblance of a Lute presence.

Can anyone give me information about the induction of the 2004 Championship Team into the Linfield Football Hall of Fame? When will it take place? How are the team members notified? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think the induction of the latest athletes to the Linfield College Hall of Fame coincides with the November 12th home game against Lewis & Clark. As I recall, the alumni are recognized at halftime and the actual induction ceremony may be that night, or close to it. I believe the school would contact the indivdual team members, I'm guessing it may be by mail or phone or email. There would likely be someone else associated with that 2004 team who could help you out.

I'm not a Linfield grad, but did attend games for several years, including that memorable 2004 season. Hope this is helpful.

Willamette opponent Hardin-Simmons is picked to finish third in the ASC according to their preseason poll of coaches, SIDs, and media.

"Seven-time ASC champion Hardin-Simmons (8-2, 6-2 ASC), which is under the direction of first-year head coach Jesse Burleson, was predicted to finish third with 181 points. Louisiana College (7-3, 7-1 ASC) was just one point behind the Cowboys and landed two first-place votes to be the fourth-place pick. "

Just read the D3football.com preseason top 25 --  Willamette opponent Hardin-Simmons is ranked No. 16 while ASC competitor Louisiana College is 21 places behind.  The ASC preseason poll placed both in a virtual dead heat with H-S as 3rd and LC as 4th just one point behind and with 2 first place votes.    Quite a contrast. :o

" ;D Too close to call.

Everyone is chasing UMHB!"

The Bearcats look to have quite a challenge when they play the Cowboys.
