but I question a couple points anyway.
Why does Emylee Tarkenton have no shoes on?
Why did they put 111 Grove city above 112 Rose-Hulman?
Just wonderin'.

Can anyone give me information about the induction of the 2004 Championship Team into the Linfield Football Hall of Fame? When will it take place? How are the team members notified? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think the induction of the latest athletes to the Linfield College Hall of Fame coincides with the November 12th home game against Lewis & Clark. As I recall, the alumni are recognized at halftime and the actual induction ceremony may be that night, or close to it. I believe the school would contact the indivdual team members, I'm guessing it may be by mail or phone or email. There would likely be someone else associated with that 2004 team who could help you out.

I'm not a Linfield grad, but did attend games for several years, including that memorable 2004 season. Hope this is helpful.

Thank you both very much. My wife and I are looking forward to being there (Maxwell Stadium) for the game and the induction ceremony. Just three years away! Plus k for both of you.

re emylee, it's because football is a less sophisticated sport than say . . .  NASCAR  where the fans are computer literate and wear shoes . . . .
as to Grove City and Rose-Hulman, still working on that . . . .

With opening of camps starting soon and the first games of the season later this month, I would like to wish my best for a great 2011 season to my second favorite team in the west, the Linfield Wildcats.  Mrs. Warthog and I had a great time visiting the Catdome and meeting so many Wildcat faithful last fall.  I can only hope the Knights and Wildcats meet in the playoffs later this season at Wartburg.  We probably won't have a tailgate event that rivals the spread we enjoyed at McMinnville when we came out for the Linfield/Willamette game last year, but we'll give it an Iowa effort.  You are all invited.

Agreed. That's a very cool accomplishment, especially given the talent level it sounds like was present.

Thanks gentlemen-

The summer league was a great experience for Casey. Several of his high school teammates (Boise High '08 state champs) are still playing college ball at Northwest Nazarene, so he got to hang with them and also met a number of pretty talented players from all over the country. All of the games were in Nampa at NNU's field.

Most of the players in the league were D2, NAIA, and JC, with a sprinkling of D1 kids. I believe he was one of 3 D3 players who participated. I can say after watching all summer that the NWC plays a quality brand of baseball.

On Friday I'll be driving up to Tacoma with my boy for his senior season(s). Time flies - just yesterday, it seems, he was a freshman.

If you think the last three years went fast, this last year will go at the speed of light.   8-)

Surprise, Willamette got 2 first place votes, but as generally expected finished second to Linfield in the 2011 NWC preseason football coaches' poll.   The Lutes were third in the poll despite coming in second in the conference last year.   The Pios in fifth may be looking for a break through year.

Linfield is Picked to Repeat in Football

2011 NWC Football Coaches' Pre-Season Poll:    2010 records
School                            (1st)    Pts.    All    NWC
1. Linfield (Ore.)                (5)       40    9-2    6-0
2. Willamette (Ore.)           (2)       34    7-3    4-2
3. Pacific Lutheran (Wash.)            26    8-1    5-1
4. Whitworth (Wash.)                    20    5-5    3-3
5. Lewis & Clark (Ore.)                   16    4-5    2-4
6. Puget Sound (Wash.)                 11    2-7    1-5
7. Pacific (Ore.)                              7    0-9    0-6

This might be the year for the Bearcats to pull an upset.    8-)

The Lutes don't believe they should be third in the NWC coaches' preseason poll, citing their 29th spot in the 2011 D3football.com preseason poll.

Lutes Ranked Among Nation's Best To Open 2011

The Bearcats were a distant 36th in the D3football.com poll.   Maybe the NWC coaches know something that the rest of us don't know  ??? . . . . or not   8-)

Perhaps they know (like some of us) that PLU is having to replace their starting QB, top rusher, and top 4 recievers (the 4th one was also their top rusher).....  Willamette, on the other hand returns a strong defense, a few QBs with experience, etc.....seems like an easy vote to cast! :)

Preseason polls in D3 football are kind of pointless.  I do like being number 3 given the holes on offense.   We haven't under the Scott W regime been able to put together solid years after graduating so many skilled positions.   We will see if this year is different.

@MC, are you questioning the judgment of the panel that picked the D3football.com 2011 preseason top 25 teams as it relates to the

NWC?   :o  I'm shocked!   :o   simply shocked!   :o
