Here's the Whitworth write-up
http://www.whitworth.edu/Athletics/Teams/Football/Releases/2011/Outlook.htm

Guess the Rat's outta the bag now. Pirates will be breaking in a new QB. Don't know a whole lot about any of the new guys. Heard the kids out of Granite Bay are studs, but Tully has always been hesitant to let newcomers play right away when there is someone with experience already there. I wasn't terribly impressed with the O line last year, but they all return after an offseason in the weight room...should be an early season strength.

Front 7 on D will be the biggest weakness, I have a feeling some young kids are going to get some serious PT. Might be another 08-like class where 6-7 of them start for 3-4 years. We'll see, should be a crazy year in the NWC.

No Two-A-Days...

So here's what I learned over the last months that I did not know...
1. Prostate cancer feeds off of testosterone.
2. Black men are more susceptible to prostate cancer. All men should be checked for prostate cancer.
3. The blood test for PSA, while the necessary tool, is not reliable in all people to indicate prostate cancer.
4. The nerves to regulate an erection run over the top of the prostate.
5. A 'radical prostatectomy' is surgical removal of the prostate.

I will have the robotic surgery August 23 at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. I was lucky to be taken on as a case study because my PSA was a low 2.4, but a digital exam ( yeah, get your jollys – five different people) and subsequent MRI showed significant cancer that must be limited to the prostate capsule and not allowed to get into the bladder or lymph nodes.
My flight back there, hospice stays and surgery are all paid for – by YOU, the tax payer - in the name of research. (Thank-you)

No sweat    :-\

D O. C.:
Here's a word of encouragement. A good buddy of mine who lives in Hawaii was recently diagnosed with the same cancer you have. He had the same surgery and is now back at work running his own business. It's a tough fight buddy, but you WILL make it through! Keep the faith and stay strong. Our prayers are with you.  :)

Granite Bay is one of the top high school programs in Sacramento, CA. Kids coming out of that program are tough as nails and are well coached.

I've been off the boards for a couple days so I see I am really late to the game here, but best of luck, DOC.

I know at least a couple of people here on the boards live in the Salem area.  If you do, please keep an eye out for Max Weischedel.  He's a defensive tackle for the Bearcats and went missing from the hotel room where he was staying earlier this week.

Quack, Quack,Quack.....

EUGENE, Ore. -- Oregon State Police released dashboard video of a traffic stop involving University of Oregon football star cornerback Cliff Harris.  Harris was cited for speeding and driving with a suspended license.
The traffic stop took place on Interstate 5 near Albany, Oregon at approximately 4:30 a.m. on June 12, 2011.  Harris was driving a red 2011 Nissan Altima that had been rented by a friend.

Harris was traveling from Portland to Eugene, Oregon with three friends including teammate Darron Thomas, the starting quarterback for the Oregon Ducks.
Harris was suspended indefinitely from the Ducks' football program after the citations.

An Oregon State Police audio recording contains the exchange between the trooper, Harris and other passengers. Harris had a suspended California driver's license at the time.
On the OSP audio, the trooper asks about the smell of marijuana in the car.
"We smoked it all," someone inside replied.
