Good September day to be a 'CATFAN.
Jobe well done.

Thanks to MonroviaCat, cawcdad, DOC and others for keeping me posted on the in-game board.

Sounds like the Cats eeked out a win today.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Bearcats get one more chance with less than 1 minute but can't move the ball, throw a pick and lose the game 30-24.

Ugh - Bearcats. The Fly needs a passing game. Who's gonna step up?

Sounds like a common Bearcat problem (lack of a passing game) but they held their own today and actually impressed me--I was thinking HSU was going to roll over them, especially after the first quarter.

Nice win for the 'Cats today over a quality opponent. With Wesley's loss is Linfield a top 5 team this week???

Who are they jumping to get there? Unless UMHB gets upset by UW-Lax, both UST and Bethel won in pretty convincing fashion today. They didn't play anyone as good as Cal Lutheran, but they did what you'd expect against lesser teams.

But still a nice win for Linfield. They closed it out down the stretch with authority. Interesting to see who prevails in Redlands v. Cal Lutheran.

I'm a UW-Lax fan for just one night.

My thoughts exactly.  It was good to see the offense come alive, and the defense also tighten up, in the second quarter.  After the first quarter the Bearcats outscored HSU 24-13.  But guess what.  The whole score counts.  You can't dig yourself a big hole like that.

In several ways the Bearcats are a young team so we'll see if today's game indicates progress.

We've played two national quality teams.  WU doesn't duck solid opponents - can't within the conference and actively seek them out for non-conference.  So, it only benefits the team down the road.

It's always frustrating to lose a game that is winnable.  The Bearcats need to keep improving and keep focused.
GO BEARCATS!

Cat(s) Scratch Fever today against a top quality Cal Lu team. It's too early in the season to nominate a "defining moment", but the Cats took control of the game after mounting a sparkling drive from our our one-yerd line, and capitalized with the go-ahead field goal. Prior to... things were kind of ugly, but that's football. Congrats to Coach Smith and his staff, as well as to the players, for sticking it to a very capable opponent.

Cats have a lot of work ahead, but every kid on the field is "willing." Let's hope Sparky hasn't sustained a serious injury.

GO CATS!!!

Disappointing loss at WU today--quit teasing us with the comeback attempts and just win it already!   Does anyone know if the Hardin Simmons guy that went down in the 2nd qtr really did break his leg?   If so, that's really sad.   I don't think there were any other noticeable injuries, but that one stopped the game for a few minutes.   Don't like to see anyone get hurt, that's for sure!

He was at Salem Hospital and in surgery by halftime.  HSU's trainer said it was the worst tib/fib fracture he'd ever seen.

Tough loss today.  The close losses are giving this season a 2007 kind of feel.
