As always, what a great day to be a Wildcat! It was nice to get back in the groove, seeing the gang at the tailgate and then a game that held our attention. Twenty or thirty degrees cooler would have been more comfortable, but we'll take the win anytime. There were some first-game jitters and flashes of excellence. It's gonna be a good year, guys!

Great win for the Cats today.  The character of this team on both offense and defense was impressive for a young team. I loved the drive when on the one year line in 2 min and 4 secs we drove consistently and methodically to kick a field goal to end the half. We had no fumbles gave up a couple of interceptions throughout the game.   It took Micky Inns some time to hit his stride but his pass on fake punt play was magnificent and though Boehme has spoiled us I expect Inns and team to win us some games this year. Go Wildcats. 99F and wearing shorts to the game was a new experience.  In cold weather or hot it's nice to see the Wildcats lead on to victory. I'm expecting a good year leading to our 56th year of streakdom.

Camcat the fake punt pass was Josh Repp the punter

Disappointing loss at WU today--quit teasing us with the comeback attempts and just win it already!   Does anyone know if the Hardin Simmons guy that went down in the 2nd qtr really did break his leg?   If so, that's really sad.   I don't think there were any other noticeable injuries, but that one stopped the game for a few minutes.   Don't like to see anyone get hurt, that's for sure!

He was at Salem Hospital and in surgery by halftime.  HSU's trainer said it was the worst tib/fib fracture he'd ever seen.

Tough loss today.  The close losses are giving this season a 2007 kind of feel.

Refresh my memory BCP.   Wasn't 2007 the year WU had a crappy non-conference season and then went undefeated in the NWC?   If so, I could live with that. ;)

Thanks for the injury update.   Knew one of you guys would know something.

Sorry--2007 you guys went 3-3 in conference and 4-6 overall.  However, you beat the Cats with a FG.... so that's probably why you had a good vibe going on...  It's also the year that Whitworth got screwed out of the playoffs.
Go Cats!

I was more thinking along the lines of 2007 being a season where we lost five games by a touchdown or less ... but if people want to focus on that Linfield upset, be my guest. 8-)

I don't like to think about 2007  :'(

And here's the write-up for the Whitworth game. They really rolled PP...but if I'm not mistaken, everyone rolls PP right?

Me, either, Rat!   And that is the year Whitworth got screwed.   It's also the year WU wasted a win over Linfield by losing to PLU.   Yep, let's just forget about that one, OK?

Lever Street

I was at Catdome today watching our Wildcats.  Didn't look near as good as last year's Cats.  Cal Lu didn't look as good as in the past either.  I'm surprised that Cal Lu didn't toss to the lanky #4 wide receiver more often.  That guy was a load for the Linfield db's to cover.  But it's great to get a win and be 1-0.  Cal Lu is touted to be a top team, and the Cat D shut them down for most of the game.

The CAT D looks pretty darn good, although I would have liked to see more pressure on the Cal Lu QB today.  Otherwise the D was solid.

CAT O looks to have a really good running game.  Several wide receivers were really good, especially Weirsma #12.  QB #11 is so-so.

CAT Special teams were outstanding all day!

Let's get healthy on the week off and beat up on LaVerne in 2 weeks.

Go Linfield!
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

Two comments on this:  1.  I felt like the Cats got good pressure on the CLU QB but couldn't bring him down--he slipped out of a lot of sacks and made some gains on the scramble.  This is not good especially when you think about when they see an actual mobile QB (e.g. Welch at L&C).  2.  Inns was not super great throwing the ball but he was poised and did not panic under pressure.  If he can improve his throws it will take him a long way.
Go Cats!

Anybody else been paying attention to Bohme in Germany?  If I'm not mistaken he's leading the German League in Td passes, efficiency, yds per game and total offense.  I think his team is undefeated and he's set several German league records.  Not bad for a rookie!  Go CATS!
Go Cats!

Yeah, pretty much.  It's a big club, though!
