I hate bye week. We just started and I got all revved up.

Warty, grandparenting is great. From none last season to two this year is more than we could have hoped for. We're hoping the Salem baby will come to a Linfield game soon. You're lucky that you have all three relatively close to you.

Good luck to the Knights tomorrow against Buena Vista. I don't imagine the Dutch will have any problem with Luther either.

Football Remains Undefeated After Back and Forth Battle With Pomona in 48-39 Victory
CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Lewis & Clark football team opens the 2011 season with a 2-0 record for the first time since 1996 with its 48-39 victory over the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens on Saturday afternoon."

What's with Mary Hardin Baylor ranked #3?  They beat McMurry by one point today. McMurry loses it's first game of the year to Stephen F. Austin 82 to 6. You brilliant DIII minds out there, is there any chance they will lose their # 3 ranking after this game? I would not be real upset if somehow Linfield got to move up a notch. Is there any possible chance of that?

Doubt it--we didn't even play this week.  However, I would not be shocked if MHB fell down a rung or two and ST. Thomas and or Bethel moved ahead of them...And by the way Stephen S. Austin is a D1-Championship Subdivision school as is UT-San Antonio who McMurray beat last week.  So McMurray may not be as bad as you think...That being said MHB has squeaked by the last two weeks and may lose votes because of it.

I'm with MCat. A second week in September start, a good win over a team you beat at home 'regularly', and then a bye week....
Those top 5 spots got to be earned.
I'm impressed again with the adjustments UMU - the artist formerly known as MUC - made to blow that game open. They earn their beans.

Are Linfield fans asleep this year?    This is the quietest blog I have ever seen from the Wildcat faithful.   Where is everyone?    Where is Gig Harbor Cat?

He was at the Linfield Cal Lutheran game last week but he told me on FaceBook today he's taking a break from the DIII boards for a while. At the moment he's focused on the 49ers beating Dallas which is a good thing.

Thanks MonroviaCat for that most reasonable explanation.  +K for you.

Stephen F. Austin is a Top 15-ranked team in Division I FCS. I don't think that's anything at all comparable to anything in Division III, CamCat.

I'm here too but since I just had Achilles Tendon Rupture Surgery last Friday...I've pretty much been out of the loop. (Can not put any weight on one foot for 6-8 weeks - try it some time you'd love it) Even had to miss the CLU/Linfield game and watch it on the internet....think that's the first home game I've missed in 35 years...so still here but just observing...for now.  :'(

I hope you heal quick Bluenote.
