Oh and BTW hats off to the Willamette video and media crew.  That is pretty impressive.  Although I would prefer Wildcat announcers of course the video quality and replays and follow of the game is top notch.  Why is there's so good?  Nice work.

I think there is a local TV station (or something similar) that does the video. It appears to be a rather professional group.

Linfield won!

It wasn't pretty, but still a win.   I am not sure I have ever seen a game with so many dropped passes and fumbles by both teams.   A combined 11 fumbles and a whole lot of catch-able, but dropped passes.   But, don't be too hard on the players.   IMO, we have just not had that much wet weather in practice.    A very dry and hot August and September.    I expect the Wildcats will improve a lot in this area.

Since Aaron Williams has been out, Josh Hill and Stephen Nasca have been very pleasant surprises.    This may be the best rushing since David Russell, 9 years ago.    Are Williams and Gonzales gone for the season?     I hope not.   PM me if you know.

Finally, CLU lives up to their billing. It is really good to go to bed and wake up to see that CLU comes back to win, putting the Cats in the drivers seat for the home playoff spot.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Reminded me a little of this game- http://www.linfield.edu/sports/records/fb/2006/whtw1104.htm -but with a better outcome:

I'm sitting here in Az. watching Chandler vs.Hamilton when the tv commentator mentions that Chandlers head coach was a running back from Linfield College. His name is Shaun Aguano. It would have been ten or so years ago. Anyone remember him?

Aguano?  Ha.. yep, we were on the same team .... good running back.   He ran the ball before Gary McGarvie took over.

Nice WIN by the Cats yesterday......but, it was a bit sloppy.  This team shows that it really has potential once it begins hitting on all cylinders.  Their were flashes of brilliance by the OLine aas well as the DLIine.  The running and the passing game also looked good at moments during the game.  We just need to put it all together and will be a very good team as the season goes on.....especially if Sparky and Aaron come back to the team.  Way to go Cats.
LEAVE NO DOUBT

I managed to make it out to Sparks for the first time in a long time.  Took my son to his first PLU game.  He loved it.

Offense:
PLU looked young on offense, but talented.  I couldn't figure out if they were flat, or confused.  Wide open recievers were missed several time.  Lots of turn overs and a sluggish running game.  There were flashes of brilliance though.  There was a 64 yard drive in the 3rd that was vintage Westering.

Defense:
Best I have seen from PLU in a really long time.  Quick with lots of hitters.  The D-line was great and all over the HUGE UPS QB (6'4 - 250).

All in all a good performance and I am interested to see how this team starts to gel when they get into the meet of the NWC.
GO FOR TWO

Thanks CAT BAT 22. Both of those guys played before I was introduced to Linfield football in 2002. Plus k! :)

Hey everybody.,  Congrats on stomping the crap out of your opponent this weekend.  I was at a retreat and I'm sure glad I was.  We got our heads and rears and everything else handed to us  down at Ferrum.  I had a bad feeling but not that bad a feeling.  My 2 poor French majors that play defense must be really tired and they have a humongous test tomorrow.  Oh well, it can't be helped.  Maybe I'll get to see you'all at the real Salem, in VIRGINIA!!!  GO CATS!  WIN WIN  WIN!!!!! :) :) :)

It's good to see your post. Hope all is well with you.  :D

Great win for the Cats at the Catdome-South.  I really don't care how you get it done, but keep getting it done and get better every week.  3-0 baby, Willamette wasn't the test that I thought they would be.  We were able to drive down main street, and their DB's just didn't cover well.  And then there was the story of the WU #11,  anyone that attended knows what I saw with him....not much !!!  Phone it in !!  We move on, they stay home.

GO CATS !!!

I went up for the Loggers-Lutes game yesterday (as usual). UPS' defense played a great game, after the awful performance at Whittier. PLU could not run through the line, so Westering adjusted and ran laterally in the 2nd half. The two freshman corners for the Loggers played better, and the d-line was terrific. UPS' offense could not move the ball at all on the ground, and Ka'ai, the huge Logger qb, was inconsistent at best.

I think UPS is improving. They had the ball in the red zone 4 times yesterday courtesy of the D, but scored only once. The next two weeks will probably be ugly, but this team does play hard. The lack of any semblance of a running game allows teams to tee off from the opening whistle, and the o-line wears down as the game goes on. Not a good sign when you are facing 2 excellent defenses the next 2 weekends.

I am heading to McMinnville next weekend for the game - have been there for baseball twice, but this will be the first football trip. Looking forward to seeing the atmosphere.

idalogger....walk past the baseball field and about 100 yards farther you'll see a port-a-potty with a blue jug sitting on top. Remember, after you manage to get up on top for yours, you have to replace the jug.

So, good....Redlands gets in and gets sent up to Mac and CLU has to go back east to upset Bethel. The solutes can come back to McMinnville and then WILDCATS can go back to St. Paul to finish that game last year properly. Good scenario, I say.

While I know you mention this somewhat in jest, I don't see Bethel getting in unless they can beat St. Thomas and if they do that then perhaps neither will get a home game....
