Kudos to the Willamette broadcast team.  The instant replays, the photo shots of the crowds and the game were the best I've seen in Division III and it was all FREE on the net.  I certainly don't mind paying my $12 to be able to watch the Cats from afar but it would be nice if we could step up our broadcast production to be at least equal with the fine job the Bearkitties are doing....hate to be playing second fiddle to our friends 30 miles to the South.  Great job WU!

Yes--with the exception of the announcer it was a good broadcast--I believe it is done, at least in part, by one of the local T.V. stations.  I  think the Wildcat broadcast is also quite good with the exception of the inconsistent and often poor audio quality and the tendency of commercials to cut into the game (but that happened with the Willamette broadcast also--I had it running in two windows U-stream and the Willamette one so I could switch between the two to avoid missing plays when commercials came up--luckily they were not at the same time).

Last year--the first Regional Rankings were released on our around October 27---

BTW, since CLU beat Redlands, it helps the Wildcat's a lot (per our scenario discussion from Saturday night) assuming the Wildcats can win out.

And then there was the story of the WU #11,  anyone that attended knows what I saw with him....not much !!!

Gig, just out of curiosity, what was the story behind #11?

When I saw the final stat sheet, I could hardly believe Inns had 329 yards passing. Credit to him and Linfield's offensive staff for going at us in the air (especially with the rain the way it was). Man though, that was a really sloppy game on both sides. I wish our reciever's hands had been as proficient as our media crew apparently is.

To be honest, I was really hopeful when we got the score to 17-10 with 8+ minutes left. We had a chance to get a stop and get the ball back (who knows what would've happened from there). Unfortunately, the Bearcat D just lost their cool. Three penalties on the drive alone kept giving you guys new chances for first downs. Especially the called holding on 4th-and-3 (which, lets be honest, the refs weren't even sure about).

Either way, we didn't come out to take care of business, and you guys did. Congrats (through clenched teeth ;) ). Looking forward to that L&C-Linfield game....

From what I understand, you can't tackle a receiver before he gets the ball or if the ball is on it's way, which is what happened. It was a screen pass to #7 who was tackled while the ball was in the air.

The one I didn't understand was the personal foul on the sack of the Willamette qb. All four of the Linfield defenders all held up, and released the guy after the whistle blew before he flopped to the ground, yet the penalty flag still came out. It's on video if anyone wants to see it...catdomealumni.com

Actually, the Bearcats were not the team I expected them to be yesterday either.   But, then again, neither were the Wildcats.   With the way WU was playing you should've been cleaning our clocks, but only won by 10.   I'm not sure what happened to our team yesterday--no excuses, but Linfield better play better than that if they expect to make any kind of play-off run besides one & done.    Besides, you still have to get past Lewis & Clark, right???  Didn't someone say they're pretty hot this year? :)

Congrats to the Wildcats (through tightly clenched teeth ala 'chatter) on their win.  The Bearcat team that didn't show up could have made the game closer, but bbaddict, you're right, only a 10 point win by the now #5 team in the D3football.com top 25 poll over an unranked team with 2 losses at the time is underwhelming at best.  It may be time for the rest of the NWC to show that the current Wildcats can be taken down and the Pios may as well be the ones to start.    :)

It was obvious to me that the refs lost control of the game and they did it early.  Take a look, if you have access to the video of the game at CCTV Salem, at the hit the Wildcats' No. 7 laid on the Bearcats No. 1 after his interception of the Linfield pass in the first quarter.  WU #1 (Dominic David) returned to the field from the Linfield sideline and began to cross to the WU side when No. 7 deliberately bashed him.   It should have resulted in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty but wasn't called.   I can cite other instances.

That kind of conduct set the tone for the game and it became ugly IMO.
