Sounds to me like the Boxers are going to get their noses rubbed in the dirt fast, faster and quite often this Saturday.

The Streak Lives ON!

Go Boxers.

LuavilleCat

The Cats indeed have an opportunity to extend THE STREAK with a victory over Pacific University this weekend. On paper it looks good; however, in 1973, it looked good too. The Cats had lowly Whitman College for the season finale prior to the anticipated second season. The Whits came to Mac 0-8. When they left our campus, they were 1-8.

With Whitman alums as colleagues, I ate a lot of crow because they beat us, beat us at Maxwell, and took us out of playoffs - #$%!.

Although LEAVE NO DOUBT may have been coined after a certain game a few years back, we all know the game must be won ON THE FIELD. Although I expect a blowout against the Boxers, the Cats had better be ready to play instead of looking forward to PLU.

GO CATS!

An astute observation, one worthy of +k, but I have NO DOUBT the Wildcats will bring their "A" game on Saturday and come away with a win.  :)
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Let's not forget Linfield's 1984 National Championship season when Pacific came to McMinnville and battled in a monsoon.  The score, 2-0 Wildcats.  It would make most team's season to take down the Cats.  Linfield needs to be disciplined and take care of business no matter the opponent.

Looking forward to seeing Pacific's facility. I'm sure the atmosphere will be charged and the crowd pumped up. If I remember right, Pacific scored on their 1st play of possession last year at the CatDome. Should be a great Saturday for football!

It's no secret I've been reincarnated so I can freely say I saw that Whitman game and the Pacific games mentioned in the blog Wildcatville (look it up).

BearcatChatter

Two things to mention.

1. I listened to the podcast WC11 posted where Bearcat commentator Mike Allegre claims the Willamette D is better "man for man" than any player on the Linfield D. I love my D, and they're superb, but you can't do disrespect to Drew Fisher (probably several others) like that. We have a great D, but that's not a fair claim to make. Allegre was in the wrong.

2. Any of the Linfielders traveling to Forest Grove should plan on stopping at "Pizza Schmizza," a local pizzeria just a block off campus. ITS REALLY REALLY GOOD. Definitely worth a visit. Here's a link

Yup--I also listened and think he took the UPS coach out of context.  I think UPS coach said something like Willamette's D is right up there with the best in the nation which Allegre then spun into Willamette's D is the best we'll face.....Is Allegre the same homer announcer that was calling everybody "Miller" during the WU v. Linfield game?
Go Cats!

Lever Street

Does anyone know the address for Pacific U, particularly the stadium location for tomorrow's game?
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

If I remember that game correctly a significant turning point was when Whitman had the ball 4th & long on about their own 40. The Cat's only rushed one person (Jay Buse) who blocked the punt, but with everybody else still running the other way, the punter picked up the ball and ran for a first down. Bummer of a day!

Will the game be played on a multipurpose field? Soccer /Football? Yep, just took a look at their field online. Yuck! I hate those.

I remember that game too....beautiful sunny day.  The Cats were running up and down the field all day, but just kept giving Whitman every break in the book.  That was one of those once in a life time type games...like the Heidi Bowl and the Miracle In The Mud.

Cats by 30....B Team gives the Boxers 7 points.

Good day for a ball game.
Greetings from out at the confluence of the Potomac & Shenandoah Rivers.
Since there are beginnings, there are endings. According to the team at the National Cancer Institute their procedures were successful.  I appear to be cancer free. Had I waited longer to have the  radical operation perhaps not so.
Suggest all have the doctor talk.
Thanks for the good wishes.
