Here's something that I just realized.  No matter what happens next weekend, the winner of the Lewis and Clark v. Linfield game in 2 weeks gets the Autobid to the playoffs.
Go Cats!

Well, Willamette was definitely the more talented team. But that's why they play the game, ball definitely rolled the Pirates way...

On a different note, look who's 7-0  :o  PLU really blew it...Willamette should handle them next week.

You might say the ball rolled the Pirates' way but they played a good game and deserved the win.

The Pios are definitely on the way up.  They won't be a pushover for the Bearcats this coming week.  PLU is never easy to beat so I wouldn't assume WU will win - even at home.

Congrats to Pacific on their first win.  Look for them to be making noise in the league next year and particularly the year after.

Willamette blew the chance at a three-way tie by losing to Whitworth.  They could have kept it a little more interesting for those of us whose teams are out of the running.  Not that I have much doubt as to who will win the conference.

Willamette's made a habit of blowing things this year.  This is a team with 14 fumbles (6 lost) and 27 penalties over its last three games.

I think the matchup against L&C will be a good one.  You've got Willamette who plays solid D but has struggled much of the season on Offense.  Then you have Lewis and Clark who has scored a lot of points but has been less than impressive Defensively.....  Both teams have had issues with penalties and fumbles while Lewis and Clark has thrown fewers picks.....  Should be a great game.

Our D is solid--we just need them to score.  And we need the Offense to show up for the first half & score (or at least not screw things up) and see more from Special Teams!

Who knew that WU @ Lewis & Clark would be a game to look forward to?   Used to be a snooze fest while our backup QBs and bench players had a chance to get playing time.  The world is officially upside down.

Go Bearcats---AND take care of the ball!

With the game at L&C and the way the Willamette offense is playing I think this will be a great game. Right now I'm favoring L&C since they were able to beat a very good PLU team up north on their home field... which is no easy feat.

Watched some of the Willamette/Whitworth game and thought Whitworth has gotten much better this year overall. They seem to be taking some more chances and not being so vanilla. Their running game looked pretty solid. Linfield needs to play better next week in Spokane than they did at Menlo.

We all wanted the NWC to improve overall.   Right now we have 5 of 7 teams above .500.   Now that's parity!   Guess we should be careful what we wish for cause none of us wanted our team to lose to get it there. :o

Not sure Linfield's offense has much to worry about at Whitworth.   It wasn't that their defense played so well against WU, it's that most of our Offense didn't show up for the first half and the ones that did kept dropping the ball or doing stupid things to give yards to Whitworth.   That's where the game went bad--not the OTs.

Fundamentals ---AND discipline!

Linfield fans should be rooting for the Bearcats this week.   With a Bearcat win over L&C, and a Linfield win over Whitworth, it makes the LC/L&C game practice time for their backups.

While they don't need to win out, DC1 is correct, the winner of LC/L&C will win the conference and the auto-bid.  Actually they might tie for the conference crown but the winner will get the auto-bid regardless of what happens this week.  Either or both teams could lose and it won't matter in regards to the auto-bid.
First criteria is conference record and second is head to head.  There is no scenario that creates a three-way tie since Willamette lost to Whitworth and PLU lost to L&C.
While the L&C/Willamette game might be a game to look forward to because it looks to be competitive and another chance for L&C to show how much they've improved it's still a "snooze-fest" in regards to the conference title.

I'm with Blue, I'm leaning towards L&C (at home), particularly with the other statements on the board regarding Willamette's lack of offense.  Unless you have a stellar D like Linfield you better be able to put up points when you play Lewis and Clark or you won't be in the game.
