From what I can figure out is they just sit down and have a few beers and play their game. Plus it depends on who is on the committee......it's kind of like the old backroom bar deals with the cigars and libations. Then they come up with this bracket that favors one of the fat cats in the room. Usually MUC or Whitewater.

Remember that the board takes each team's last year's performance as a secondary consideration.  So, in addition to the SOS, Wesley made the Semis last year, compared to a second round loss by Linfield.

I'm sure Wesley would be more than happy to travel to Oregon to take on Linfield on the road if the bracket warranted it.  The team is pretty used to it by now and I know I wouldn't be perturbed about it.  Let's see if both teams make it through the first round and have it settled on the field.

Monkeystomp came from the guy that had Monk or Kilted somewhere in his handle.  I think he ended up in medical school in San Diego.  Dens you will have to take it from here.  My 2 brain cells aren't awake yet !!

Was Wesely in the west bracket last year? if not ,then comparing last years playoff depth is crazy. the west last year was far and away the toughest road to travel.

cludad,

Absolutely right.   Has been for the last decade.

Now this year they shake things up, but the NWC and the SCIAC still are in the toughest bracket.   4 of the Top 8 teams in one bracket?    Absurdly unfair.

Here are the brackets with Top 10 teams:

UW-W bracket:   2 teams
St. Thomas bracket:  1 team
Mary Hardin-Baylor bracket: 4 teams
Wabash bracket: 3 teams

Granted some of these top 10 teams might be upset by a lower ranked team.    But, still...

Looking forward to this Linfield-CLU game Saturday.    Should be a humdinger; this is clearly the hardest first round game of all.

You really think so? Each year, the South bracket is pretty lethal in its own right.   I agree that comparisons can get to be apples and oranges, so I will stop there.  I guess we get to find out this year how good a ranked West coast team does in the "Southern" bracket.   I am sincerely excited about seeing how much parity there is between the regions.

Excellent comment...Apples and Oranges...very possible; and that makes this a very exciting and challenging bracket.  Our Wildcats will definately need to be on thier "A" game, all cylinders white hot, nitro injected best to start out against the Kingsmen...(again)!!!
For me and my Catdome heart condition...please pass the nitro tabs... ;)

Yeah, I remember that NWC 1999 team.  The consensus was that since Rowan squeaked by MUC the following week....the National Championship was just a formality that Rowan had to show up and claim the walnut and bronze, after the game.

Wrong. A majority of D3football.com prognosticators picked Pacific Lutheran.

Blue, We remember the good old days? :) See you at the game..

Pat ,the way i remember it was no one picked PLU at the start of the playoffs..  :) "Plu who", "what is a Lute"... :o

but , then again i have been wrong once before too? :'(
We West coast boys have supported your site from the early days Pat .. Keep up the good work pat.. :-*

My post got caught inside the debate of who "deserves" to be seeded where. Again, any idea when All-NWC teams will be coming out?

That is an interesting debate...Obviously Inns from Linfield had a good season stat-wise. I just think that L&C's resurgence this year (which was almost entirely thanks to Welch) will warrant Welch POY. Near the top in the conference in passing AND rushing.

Welch would not surprise me at all EXCEPT for grade level.
Fisher might show up in the coach's minds.
