Nice write-up on Inns the "singing QB" (sort of like Gene Autry the "singing cowboy")

Also interesting is that the Oregonian/oregonlive.com actually now has a Small College news category next to "Pac-12 News" and "Civil War Central".   (Shocking  :o to say the least, but will it last).

If this is the same Nick Daschel--photo on facebook -- who has been writing most of Oregon small college news stories as a sportwriter for the Oregonian/Oregonlive.com and is the "owner of Vancouver Laundromat . . . the newest, highest-efficiency laundromat in Clark County. . . . [who works as] a free-lance writer, primarily for newspapers such as The Oregonian, as well as several web sites such as collegegolf.com, cougfan.com, educk.com, . . ." then, the NWC SIDs should be wining and dining him and feeding him with good information, and patronizing his laundromat (but not too much as he might leave the field of journalism if his business becomes too successful . . .)  ;)

"Players in the Linfield program are not allowed to grow facial hair, except for mustaches during the playoffs.

'There's a lot of pressure to grow a mustache. Every one tries, but not every one looks good,' Inns said. "

They failed to note that the Linfield facial hair rule is in place because of the issues with fleas from the goats. Gotta love the last great frontier known as Oregon.

Happy trails to the CLU team, its almost time!!

Nick's a solid reporter.  I sat next to him in the press box at the Wagon Wheel game, and he was at Willamette/Linfield too.  On any given Saturday, he's attending one game and has around four other live stat feeds going on his computer, since the Oregonian has him covering every college non-D-I college in the state.  He's not Norm Maves, but it's great to see that he's actually going to games.

Had to + you k4, I laughed out loud.

I noticed the "champs" on your logo. You guys don't get any silly prize for winning the SCIAC and dying in the wet pastures, do you?

LINFIELD was NAIA runner-up in 1992 and you get squat for that - well, a trophy that sits behind the real ones in the case.

Cal Lu's recent string of high-point victories have come against total creampuff teams.

CATS by 14 tomorrow.  I'll be there shivering in the cold on the sidelines!

I think Nick Daschel used to write for the Vancouver Columbian as well.

A 6 point win over 4-6 Whitworth isn't exactly convincing is it? The same Whitworth team that lost to Chapman, who was one of the teams we threw 60 points on.... food for thought.

Hey! It was a four point win and if we hadn't blocked four (count 'em 4) extra points we would have had to go into overtime like Willamette did.

You beat a team by only 4 points ... that allowed you to block 4 extra points???!!! Point taken, I think that says it all.

CLUDAD,

No doubt, Linfield laid an egg at Whitworth.  We haven't played very well on the road this year.

I'm just saying that Cal Lu's high points against Whittier, Pomona Pitz, Claremont, Chapman, and Oxy don't mean anything.  All of those teams are weak sauce.  And we both that LaVerne is terrible too.  The only decent teams Cal Lu played this season were Linfield, PLU and Redlands.

CATS have played pretty solid at home this season.
