well with that logic ,all games against anything but top 20 teams dont count and leagues are useless.we play the hand thats dealt us ,and believe or not 5 of our games were on the road and we still avg.47 a game.CLu hasnt slowed down a bit since the redlands game,we took care of the business we had to,lets wait and see .(you never adressed the sos thing CLU 15 rank linfield 40 somthing i think yours is a little more crem puffy than ours)

CLUDAD,

No doubt, Linfield laid an egg at Whitworth.  We haven't played very well on the road this year.

I'm just saying that Cal Lu's high points against Whittier, Pomona Pitz, Claremont, Chapman, and Oxy don't mean anything.  All of those teams are weak sauce.  And we both that LaVerne is terrible too.  The only decent teams Cal Lu played this season were Linfield, PLU and Redlands.

CATS have played pretty solid at home this season.

The bottom to mid of the SCIAC is no different than the bottom to mid of the NWC ... it has been like this for years. My point is that we blew out teams with 4-5 records (Claremont, Chapman, La Verne, and Oxy who was 5-4), and you beat a team with a 4-6 record by 4 and had to block 4 PAT's to do it (no team that allows 4 PAT blocks deserves to be in a game with the #4 team in the nation.... that is a big RED FLAG to me) ...

I don't see an argument here... We killed the teams we were supposed to kill, beat our nationally ranked rival for the conference championship, and lost to the #4 team in the nation in a close season opener. I feel better about this season and team than any that I have observed in my 12 years with the program.

Well of course it is--we had teams like CLU on our schedule while you guys got to have Linfield on your schedule ;)  Honestly though, I think what Lever is saying is that putting up those big points is all good and well but it's is not indicative of how well you do against a good opponent--both teams have played well against cream puffs (Cats had UPS, Pacific, et. al.)   When you look at common opponents, both schools pasted La Verne, Linfield pasted PLU and CLU should have but killed themselves with penalties in the first half, and then there was that game in week 1 where these two teams played each other.....Linfield won in a pretty close battle, both teams feel like they should have won (only one did) and both teams feel like they are going to win tomorrow....I guess there is a reason to play the game, eh?  And to a degree, leagues are useless--we'll see tomorrow how playing in a crappy league (not talking about NWC or SCIAC here) and winning it only gets you into the playoffs it doesn't mean you actually belong there---winning games in the playoffs does! :)

Very well put. Everyone wants to give reasons why their team is better - we will know without speculation in 24 hours and then can argue more from there, and there will be plenty of time to argue how our teams were 1-1 in head to head this year  ;).

Of course we blew out a 7-2 team and a 6-3 team that CLU only mange to beat by 11 pts...oh and we beat you guys week 1. :)  Still--this Linfield fan does not expect a blowout tomorrow--I see it as a very even matchup--IMO---CLU has more overall talent on Offense where Linfield has a very nice even distribution of talent (e.g. no superstars but good players at each positon), Linfield's D is (again IMO) a bit tougher....

Bottom line--should be a battle--team that doesn't have stupid penalties and can hold onto a cold, wet ball tomorrow will win.
Go Cats!

And then we get a rematch next year either way! :)

With the all the talk about points scored and given up, I took a look back at the past 5 seasons of Linfield scores. The defense has always played well and usually had one hiccup when they gave up large numbers of points. Even in the years they went 6 - 3. Those games tended to be mid season and the Cats usually won them. This year was no exception Whitworth was just a hiccup. I look forward to a great game tomorrow.

monrovia cat, bravo and well put ;D

Mr. Ypsi

mc, based on recent history, TWO rematches next year would not surprise! ;)

Hey cludad,

Why is sos so important to you? As far as I am concerned, doesn't sos mean "same old song?" You are enjoying a dream season with great expectations, but schedules, statistics, comparisons don't mean jack. You have every reason to believe, but Linfield is unlike any other team you have played this season; we prepared a solid game plan to beat your a$$ in September, and we have prepared another solid game plan to do it again tomorrow. Like I said, it's the same old song.

The Universe favors the CATS. We play in the mythical CATDOME, and must I remind you our playing surface gives us power to do more!

Are you superstitutious?

GO CATS
Lost in things I love most: the Universe, a good woman, and LINFIELD FOOTBALL

sos doesnt mean alot to me,but when someone call a teams schedule cream puff, strengh of schedule(for those slow learners) is a pretty fair way to compare.

True---will be interesting to see if CLU can reload--I think they are losing their QB and main RB at least...I guess as long as they have somebody to throw to Rogers they'll be o.k. :)  Of course, I'd love to see both teams get a different first round playoff opponent just for variety.... :)

An even more fair way to compare is head to head competition, no?  ;)

I agree ,but it was the schedule he questioned.qb will be a hard find, but we have a stable of fresh. rbs that are pretty darn good.
