It seems to me the Cats should have been in UWW bracket so they could have played Kean in the second round.  Especially since Kean whipped Wesley during the regular season....that way we could play the best team from that neck of the woods....not the second best.  I don't understand how Kean could be rated #12 and Wesley #7 when Kean beat Wesley.  Maybe Kean doesn't have the pollsters in their pocket?

Good points....Is Wesley the new Rowan?....Beast of the East?

Hope that Wesley scores twice as much as Rowan did at the 'Catdome. Might be an interesting game for a series or two.  ;)

Hardcore.  You guys start early, huh?  This is going to be a long week...... :P

Wesley College Football.... A Winning Tradition not to be soon forgotten!

wesleydad

wow you guys are hillarious.  kean is not ranked ahead of wesley because they are not as good as wesley.  won the game, but that is not all the pollsters look at.  only lose for wesley by 3 and a very sloppy game by them.  in fact kean would not be one of the top 4 teams from this neck of the woods.  i expect them to get beat by salisbury this weekend, a team that wesley handled rather easily.  we all know that sometimes you will lose to an inferior team when you play a sloppy game.  as far as the apprentice school goes, they are probably as respected for what they do and still play football as anyone out there.  it is an apprentice school for shipbuilders and they work an 8 hour day and then play football.  slightly different than the average college student who doesnt do anything of use for at least 8 hours a day.  at least they have the guts to schedule wesley, unlike some of the other east teams.  i am sure that if i checked out linfield's schedule they would have a team of similar skill that they played, but i wont because it doesnt really matter at this point of the season.  i would agree that clu was better than hobart, just glad that wesley got the sloppy game out of the way yesterday.

No, Teamski, we never quit.
No need to start early.

Wesleydad,

If You want to get a bit of a flavor of what the Cats are all about, I might suggest you visit our 'fan website'....www.catdomealumni.com .  You'll find it interesting viewing and reading.  The post game videos posted from yesterday's story is kind of what the Linfield football tradition is all about.  With the longest consecutive winning seasons at all levels (56), four national championships, etc., etc.  Linfield football is a way of life.  Our student athletes come to the program with a singular goal...be the very best, year after year.

Wesleydad,

Glad to hear your game against Kean was 'sloppy'.....but unfortunately the Northwest Conference doesn't have any schools like the Apprentice School to play football against.....we just take every game seriously (if not we'd end up getting beat on any given Saturday if we turned in a 'sloppy' performance.  I did notice that you managed to eke out a win against Charleston Southern (granted a Division IAA school) who managed a stellar 1-10 record this year....nice job taking it to the scholarship boys!

Apprentice School may be competitive with a girls powder puff team.

sloppy is an excuse and a mind set.

When I went to the Wesley official site....they had a video of the Kean/Wesley game highlights on the front page. I thought it rather odd to have a loosing effort as a highlight film on the front page of their website as a recruiting tool. Maybe they try to remind the Wesley players not to have another brain fart or something like they almost did when they played Hobart.

The students at the Apprentice school work harder in a day than most at Linfield, I can imagine.

wesleydad,
can you possibly write real sentences with capital letters at the beginning and periods at the end?

Additionally:  My post is not a statement as to say that means the Apprentice School is tough as a football opponent, just that before we go ragging on that school you should have some perspective.

wesleydad

pgo4, thanks for the comments about the apprentice school.  no need to insult hard working young men who also happen to want to play football.

Gray Fox, I certainly could use caps and punctuation, but I choose not to for no particular reason.  I did not know I was going to have my writing skills checked on each post.

Cludad, sloppy is a description I used to explain how Wesley played that particular game.  Cute one liners don't add to the conversation.

Bluenote, not sure why they have that as a video highlight on the website.  Not sure how that matters either.
